AI could take on a bigger role in nursing in the future. It is not ideal to have robots replace humans but you never know. The presence of AI has increased exponentially, and I believe it will become more prominent. All we can hope for is for technology to aid in preventative measures, such as catching life-threatening diseases faster.

1. Data risks: No matter what safety measures are taken, there is always a risk of someone accessing patient data
2. Costly equipment: Not all hospitals are funded equally, causing a variation of acessible care to certain populations
3. Gap in technology training: With technology constantly changing, some hospitals will have different equipment than another. This can cause a gap in knowledge of how to use the equipment.

1. Portible monitors: We are able to receive vitals, and ECG results as soon as it is read!
2. Telehealth: Patients are able to access virtual appointments and speak with their provider through here!
3. EHR's: Assists healthcare professionals with identifying medication interactions and flagging certain patient information.
4. IV pumps: Allow for continuous IV infusions without the nurse having to be by its side! Can be programmed to many settings.
5. Beds: Electronically powered beds allow for the patient to be repositioned quickly! Is useful duing codes.

1. Can have days where it is unreliable (outages, web-breaches)- this only proves how dependent we are on electricity, internet, and technology as a whole.
2. Older population may have difficulties navigating new technology- not everyone is proficient with technology, especially since it is improving and upgrading everyday
3. People may lack resources , -Clients may have difficulties accessing the internet when at home, or some don’t have a phone or computer access.
It’s hard to view healthcare without technology. It would make patient care take longer, as the wait for labs, diagnostics and others would increase.
It would also be less beneficial to those with amputations, who have prosthetics.
May be difficult to chart- as technology makes it simple and organized
Longer communication wait times. Everyone would have to physically communicate with one another

Technology within the profession comes in various forms, assisting with client confidentiality, healthcare records, getting labs done quickly, presenting accurate patient vitals, and much more. It has made patient care easier, and it is hard to think about healthcare without it. From admission to discharge, devices are constantly being used, to get vitals, chart, communicate with the provider, monitoring of the patient’s condition, and setting up patient portals. New technology has helped with making patient care safer and more efficient. We are able to get results from labs quicker with EHR systems, allowing action to be taken quickly regarding patient care.
