Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi announced that he is launching a Committee for Drafting for Transitional Justice Regulations in a statement posted to his X/Twitter on Monday.
During his statement, Pahlavi addressed those who have been "victims of injustice, torture, and repression by the Islamic Republic" over the past five decades.
"To the grieving, justice-seeking mothers and fathers, daughters and sons, sisters and brothers, whose number this tyrannical regime has increased every year, every month, every day," he said, noting that the committee was formed "with pride, and in pursuit and justice for each and every one of you."
The committee will be "tasked with drafting the regulations for a truth-finding commission and court," he stated.
Committee formed of four members from four generations, Pahlavi explains
The committee will be formed of "experienced Iranian experts spanning four different generations," including chair Shirin Ebadi, Iraj Mesdaghi, Leyla Bahmany, and Afshin Elian.
Further, "distinguished international legal scholars" will aid the committee in an advisory capacity, Pahlavi said.
"Transitional justice is a critical part of our program for free Iran. The truth will be revealed. Justice will be served. Light will triumph over darkness," Pahlavi concluded.
