This from the company that claims to be the most open, with "the most choice." I hope this is just a developer preview thing, and the shipping version of Windows 11 lives up to their claims. This is far from "choice."
Microsoft is making it harder to switch default browsers in Windows 11. Alongside the new Widgets that ignore your default browser choice, Microsoft's browser competitors aren't happy. My report here: theverge.com/22630319/micros…

Give me a break, you're only "worried" because of the impact this could have on chrome, not because of people or "choice"

Can a user install Edge on Chrome OS? Requires Crostini probably.

Google can't say anything about other companies enforcing stuff, try going to google on any other browser than Chrome and you'll get incessant messages trying to get you to install Chrome. STOP IT.

knowing MS trust me this is not intentionally added feature - this must be idiotic mistake done by their team - probably someone from 'help' menu team is transferred to development team

Does that mean you guys are going to make Google Assistant available to the desktop anytime soon? Or for that matter give a bunch of great Android products appropriate native experiences like Duo?

While I think you’re right, Google makes an OS that locks 99.9% of it’s users to one browser. I’m not sure you have any moral high ground here.

The word " Choice" is used as a marketing tool in order differentiate a company from its competitors. Biliion dollar companies or trillion in this case, will never want you to have choice, they don't exist for you and they are not your friends,

Microsoft already broke its promise of offering choice to users by limited processor support for Windows 11. Can't expect more from this company.

The more they put it in my face & force it on me, the more incentive I have to never use it & to try to disable it - no matter how good it might be. It is like Youtube free trial. Feels like a mole that is meant to be whacked. Cc: @ericlaw

Why wouldn't you want to set file association for individual files? I don't want svg to open with my browsers. And this feature was upvoted by thousands of Windows users. This is literally "the most choice" they're giving by granular control over each and every file types.

Does Google still enforce a wipe of a user's Android device if they choose to upgrade Linux? Stop running the company like it's Nintendo or deal with it.

From the company that "DOS isn't done, until Lotus won't run" This is hardly surprising, i expected nothing less from them.

Nope, it shipped like this. Just got a new Surface Pro and had to go through this to get Chrome as default.

Just don't install Windows 11, being developer preview, insider preview, final release or whatsoever. Just install Linux and be free, may I recommend @SolusProject

The only choice you have is to switch to linux

Are you going to allow people to sideload apps without having to dig through the settings, or are you okay with that little double standard?
