Coalition split on hate speech piles pressure on Ley

Sussan Ley’s leadership faces renewed pressure after the Coalition split over Labor’s antisemitism, hate and extremism laws, with Nationals MPs refusing to join the Liberals in supporting the legislation in the parliament.

With the laws passing the Senate late on Tuesday night, the split further highlighted the increasing dysfunction of the Coalition and the inability of the party’s respective leaders, Ley and David Littleproud, to work together.
