Hello, I am Joyce, also known as Schrödinger's Catgirl (or quantumcatgirl), and I work on projects and hacks involving electronics and computing.

What is this site about?

This site is where I write about projects, hacks, and my thoughts about real-world systems. Consider this a blog and project log if you will.

I also think about the technology we build and use, and its relationship and implications on society and on people. While building tech can be fun, the tech we build can be used to do harm, and as hackers, we need to think in terms of policy design & analysis regarding the way we build and use our technology.

Hence I analyze systems such as Singapore's TraceTogether COVID-19 contact tracing system (writeup coming soon!), and consider it a duty of hackers everywhere to inspect similar systems, and present their findings to the public responsibly.

Who I am NOT

Some of you think of me as such a big deal that you think I am some threat actor wanted by the Five Eyes.

I am not this "Gideon Teagarden" person and have no idea who they are or if they even exist. Whatever they've done however, I certainly don't envy their position.

If the Internal Security Department is paying attention, you think maybe it's a good idea to consider recruiting more... reliable persons as third-party fixers if you have to recruit fixers at all in the first place, and not someone like Mercury Jamie Alice?

I don't want to tell you how to do your business, but you do realize that this isn't a good look for Singapore in the global intelligence community, right?
