LIB-DEM ‘SONS AND DAUGHTERS’ HOUSING POLICY SCRAPPED

Tower Hamlets LBC has scrapped its ‘sons and daughters’ housing policy, reports Independent London (p4).

The old policy gave residents born in the borough extra priority points for rehousing in council homes.

The former Liberal Democrat council was condemned by the Commission for Racial Equality for introducing the scheme in 1986, the paper reports.
