I was talking with a few people about a month ago on here-about Bill Barlage who owned the Pixie Diner. He is my friend-and I said I hadn't heard from him and that I tried to call him and his phone had been disconnected.-I was trying to locate him. He called me the other day and I was THRILLED to hear from him. He turned 104 in March- was living at home and had caregivers come in. He caught Covid and survived. He is now in Morrison Woods living facility. I went to see him yesterday and he is doing great.
I have two requests. I think it was on Lost Muncie-but someone posted where they found a shirt from GoodWill that said "I had dinner at the Pixie Diner" or something like that- posted a pic of it. I have looked in the archives here and cant find it. I would love to be able to show it to him and hear the story about the shirts.
2) Being 104-he doesn't have any friends left. He has children who live at least 8 hrs away. I am sure he would appreciate any cards people would like to send his way. Not for sure of the room number-but I am sure if it was addressed to Bill or Willard Barlage-Morrison Woods- 4100 N. Morrison, Muncie, 47304 -he would receive it.

I grew up behind the Pixie and have known Bill for over 60 years. He's an amazing man. I love to hear his stories about riding the rails in a boxcar during the depression trying to find work. A very interesting book could be written about his life.…

My husband and our oldest son use to play music at the Pixie Diner. I want to say 1983 or 1984. They played in the back room. My husband just passed but we as a family we talk about them playing the Pixie Diner a lot. Fun memories
