EDIT: at $500/$2600 for relocation! we can stay here for another few days now but leaving would be better for our health and safety!
still have gotten nothing. me and my family desperately need your help right now.
WE NEED DONATIONS. we either need to leave because it's getting too expensive and it's also not safe here because people keep breaking in, or we need to bite it and stay. i don't care which but we urgently need help.
and on top of that my brother's food stamps are STILL gone. the DTA will not pick up a phone or tell us what's going on, so as of right now we also can't really buy food.
this is an extremely desperate situation we're in and we need your help.
$500 has been donated so far (ty so much!) and while that can be used to pay this hotel, it would be really wonderful to meet the $2600 goal for relocation too.
I just realized that if Trump's friends get control of Warner Bros, they're probably going to make a new Matrix movie so they can "clarify" the meaning of the red and blue pills.
I am the CEO of a giant multinational chain of restaurants. Some people have questioned the relevance of restaurants in the age of COVID-19, but I'm here to assure you that restaurants are still very important, because they offer a superior experience to eating at home. Even a terrible meal at a restaurant is still infinitely better than eating excellent food at home. And everybody knows it: no one would ever choose to eat at home if they had the option to eat at a restaurant.
When I buy ingredients from food producers, I require them to sign an agreement to a 45-day restaurant-exclusive window, during which they are not allowed to sell the same ingredients to grocery stores. They don't have to sell exclusively to me: they can sell to other restaurants. They just can't sell to grocery stores.
I'm being informed that a major food company is refusing to sign on to a 45-day restaurant-exclusive window, and will sell ingredients in the grocery stores at the same time as in restaurants (but not my restaurant, since they wouldn't agree to my terms).
This is terrible! It will be the end of the restaurant industry! No customer would ever go to a restaurant if they could eat food made from the same ingredients at home. And what about shoplifting, huh? Some of the people getting food from the grocery store are actually shoplifting, and restaurants are the only way to prevent it.
And really, even 45 days is too short. Mr. Government, can we get a law making it illegal to sell food in a grocery store unless the seller has previously sold it in restaurants for at least 180 days? It's the only way to save restaurants! I'm also going to ask some famous chefs to go on TV and say that restaurants are in danger and exclusive restaurant windows are the only way to save them.
I just managed to make another watchface, this time (pun intended) it's always 11 AM, but the timezone changes every hour to where it's 11 AM in the world.
Hello ladies and gentlemen, welcome to episode one of Jerma Craft, the series where I play Minecraft; this is gonna be a single-player letโs play, and when I say โletโs play,โ I use that term... heh, pretty loosely, because Iโm an idiot in this game, youโre gonna see lots of fails, youโre gonna see lots of... triumphs, at least Iโm hoping. So go grab yourself a nice hot cup of coffee, hot cup of cocoa; I got apple cider right here freshly brewed, let me take a sip... ahh, thatโs good cider.
So after 16 months of illness I'm back on my feet and applying to jobs, but I'm completely broke and the combination of car+power+storage for 6 people is due, with a lot of late fees added in. I'm sorry to ask, but any amount would help. Thanks so much!
I've been thinking about starting some kind of "linux school" where I live. I thought we'd just start by installing linux on machines and make an ad hoc workshop. E.g. bring your computer and roll up your sleeves kind of thing.
Any suggestions of existing material that I could take a look at? I'm mostly looking for inspiration and topics to address and in what order to do things.
Tumblr is changing its posts to be more mastodon-like but no one has heard of mastodon so they think itโs โTwitterficationโ but IโM hoping itโs a sign theyโre still working on AP integration. Iโd love to access the fediverse through tumblr, and I think itโd give the site a breath of fresh air.
EDIT: This statement? ---> "OP will still be able to see all the notes."
TURNS OUT THAT'S NOT TRUE. Which does in fact mean that this update is fuuuuuucked. OPs can't see reblogs-of-reblogs, AND they don't get any of the notes from reblogs-of-reblogs, which means a big blog can just suck up all the notes that SHOULD be going to OP if it's like, a piece art. #Tumblr
