2023, art and legal concerns

It's sunday, I'm comfortably tipsy and bought a motorcycle (I don't do DUI it's not there yet DW) and it's time for a journal .

I've been very busy as of late but I believe to be capable of resuming commissions.
I've been building a fursuit head (not of my derg char, that's too complicated for the time being) and I'm currently at the furring part. it's actually going fine and doesn't look ugly at the moment.

As I said I bought a motorcycle.
It's not a small thing, getting a permit here actually requires work and dedication (something I'm actually not a big fan of, believe it or not I'd prefer it if people had a much easier access to pretty much everything, and to hell with the danger concerns)

So I spend money
So I need to take commissions kek

Now, I've been PM'd a lot about this.

Some probably noticed that a specific person from a specific country got fucked over lately. It's entirely possible that I may be in danger in the same way.

Although I do have reasons to believe that I'm a lot safer than that person, I've known for a long time that what I draw is illegal in most places and this includes [undefined place where I live] because I research law fairly regularly. This ... Specific issue turns something I was half certain about into something I'm absolutely convinced of being a real threat.

Changes may be required in order to adapt and overcome this problem but stay assured that I will in fact never, ever stop doing what I do, as freedom is a necessary requirement for life, and a life without freedom isn't a life worth living.
(Watch me dropping arguments as to why I'm gonna keep drawing small diapered dragons getting raped lol)

I believe to be relatively safe and knowledgeable on what type of behaviors and strategies I should adopt in order to remain safe.
Do not worry too much about me.

ᶦᶠ ʸᵒᵘ ᵏⁿᵒʷ ᵃ ʷᵃʸ ᵗᵒ ᵍᵉᵗ ᵐᵉ ᵘˢ ᶜᶦᵗᶦᶻᵉⁿˢʰᶦᵖ ᵗʰᵒ ᵖᵐ ᵐᵉ

(I will delete all references to said person who had trouble if any such comments are made, not because I hate you or anything but because I'd like to keep things nooooot too obvious in order for specific people or authorities not to find it)

Hope you have fun with your motorcycle tho!
have one myself, but only a 125cc due to only having license for up to 125cc cx
still is nice for my use case.

Never considered the legal side of things when it comes to art content tho.
there are artists out there that has been arrested cause of what they've drawn? o.o

I straight up skipped that, I didn't want anything that low. I got my license very recently (last week) for any cc and I'm starting still relatively low with a 350 after getting my license on a 680-690. I will, in the future, when moving on to another motorcycle, go 700 + and then go up from there

there are artists who have been arrested over this, and very recently there has been artists, close by, arrested over cub.

Quite fair to go for higher license to begin with, I got the lower license back when I was 16 so that was the limit. Later took car license so never went for the higher ones x)
Now the price to take licenses are hella high...

damn.. that's quite wild... and honestly stupid >.<

United States asylum for persecution of artistic freedom is a valid reason to apply ,  here, read last bullet point on this page... https://artisticfreedominitiative.org/our-programs/lega...
then simply get your citizenship well....not simply...but you get the idea...

I'd rather avoid asylum. No one is going to believe what I have to say on that side and, although most courts in the US that had to deal with cub porn ended up finding the defendant not guilty, in every case there was a comment about the fact that it was obscene and maybe should be illegal, but isn't.

If I compare my country to most, I am supposed to be relatively free (tho that's only true in relativity, since there isn't enough freedom in the most free countries of this world and all tend towards less and less gradually).

I would also be making that demand while abroad which is a big nope usually, since it's not at all on the same continent lol and I'm almost certain this would fuck with any further attempt down the line. It's also possible that I end up outting myself to the authorities while trying to prove that I'm at risk lmao

An awful concern to have to bear. How ironic that the law is so often a citizen's highest threat for harmless activities.

May your artistic travels soar free of turbulence, friend.

I can't think of a current state in which the government currently considers itself a servant and a representative of its people instead of their owner.

The grass is always greener on the other side. U.S. citizenship is fine until they restrict what you can do as a citizen or permanent resident for geopolitical reasons, and want annual tax returns for life, wherever you are. I was on the track for that (H1B, green card application) but eventually didn't go through to get it. Feel like I dodged a bullet in a way, especially as I missed the Trump years. Do have Social Security coming at retirement, though!

yeah no, I'm absolutely taking absolutely all of that over anything the EU has to offer. Plus, I've been in north America for a while, I've actually seen it for myself.

I'm not going to be one of the local guys who keep repeating that "at least we have free healthcare!!!" while we close hospitals and die in waiting rooms all the while we give away absolutely every basic freedom any living being should have for granted.

it's a matter of time before it happens there too, but that's nowhere close to what we're headed for.
