Marathon vault storage improvements coming next week

The Marathon dev team announced upcoming changes to help players manage their Vault space.

Changes include:

▪ Larger stack sizes for consumables, ammo, salvage, and grenades
▪ New Vault filters for keys and sponsored kits

The changes are aimed at freeing up more storage space after player feedback that current stack sizes feel too small.

More updates are expected in the upcoming patch.

I play this game on Xbox. Feels good, looks good, runs good. But I feel like I’m at a small disadvantage with how much it sucks to do looting and inventory management on a controller. I’ve watched footage of PC players and they can do all that shit way faster.

Twice, and each time I could've been easily killed.
One was an assassin who kept emoting "Friendly" after I missed two shots.
The second time was when I was playing rook and I ran into 2 people. We stared at each other and they followed me as I awkwardly back away; ended up extracting.

When he's moving, he's not that hard to see, it doesn't really let you just walk across open spaces undetected by other players. But he's damn near actually invisible when stationary, and even when moving he's just that little bit harder to see than everyone else, which usually results in face to face shotgun draws going his way. Cloak not doing anything for sound is the thing that you could say balances it, as even crouching you make noise moving, he can't really sneak up on you any easier than anyone else, but if he knows you're coming ain't no one better for camping a corner.

I love and hate this game at the same time. Feels like a BPD girlfriend.

sure, I get a tactic or THE tactic is to take down other teams to then own the map and loot, but fucking hell it shouldn’t be the case that it devolves into that within the first 2 minutes of the round

Dire marsh feels like hell with the sound changes. Small enough that you can hear the gunfights on the map, with enough open space that you can also see most of the gunfights on the map. Makes every UESC engagement guarantee some faggot with a thermal scope is now waiting for you to leave a building. I like perimeter, but nothing happens on it for most of your match time until you converge on three other teams at once. Outpost is more engaging than both maps in every aspect while not forcing you to expose yourself to the half dozen faggots with thermal scopes, and pinwheel funnels everybody into PvP encounters you can prepare for instead of third parties wiping you out of nowhere.

How is Marathon from a solo perspective? I have no desire to ever play on squads. I also don't experience gear fear in games like this for some reason. However, I hear solo was the "afterthought" mode and its full of one type of shell(Assassin) that sort of cheapens the experience from what I gather. How much of that is true?

Some contracts are easier solo, some are easier with a team. Solo you got no backup and no chance of someone running/hiding then ressing you later.

If you've got a contract where you need to visit 3 different places all over the map, it can be hard to convince your team to follow you around especially if they have come in with the intent of completing their contract. Sneaking around on your own can work well if you know what you're doing but as I said you've got no recourse if you get stabbed in the throat.

Encounters with npcs are not balanced for solo but they recently nerfed their HP to take them from inconvenience to joke. Usually you are able to sneak around and knife them all one by one without making noise, that's if you actually need to clear them out and cant just sneak to objective.

Exfill camping is a huge problem solo, maybe you'll get your contract done but you won't get your loot out.

I'd say play teams for a while first to lrn2play, dos and don'ts. You'll reach a point where you'll think this thing I need to do would be easier without 2 others to worry about.
