I continue to be amazed at America’s tendency to cult-like behavior, where loyalty to highly-flawed- and even mentally unwell- individuals is more valued than buyer discernment, critical thinking or even common sense. Not surprised there is a high overlap between Musk fan-boys and Trump fan-boys.

I am also amazed, and appalled. It is difficult to absorb the fact of the cultish behavior of millions of Americans, some of whom are very "educated" to people who continually lie about what anyone with sense and open eyes knows is total, and dangerous, BS. There appears to be a major "glitch" in human nature that permits such blind commitment.

I've been using "FSD" most of the time since my Tesla driving score of 98 let me engage it in early 2021, I think. My car has 136k miles now and probably 80-90% of those miles were with "FSD" engaged. As a 'driver assistance' feature, I'm good with it, but I don't expect that Tesla will achieve true FSD before the company fails. On freeways, I just keep my eyes open in case it makes a mistake, which is exceedingly rare. I make more mistakes than FSD in those conditions. Near my home, there are a couple 2-lane highway spots where FSD usually fails and I experience far more times where I need to intervene. This is also true on city streets. Another problem with electric cars, in general, is worse: The fastest chargers have heavy charging cables which my wife can't handle. In winter, these cables are stiff and almost too much for me.
