Sharon Stone in line for wooing of Woo line
THE latest news on how Hollywood movie moguls are hoping to lure Hongkong director John Woo will fuel further speculation about when, or if, he is due international recognition.
Word reaches us that executives with TriStar Pictures have approached Woo to direct Pin Cushion - billed as a ''futuristic action road movie'' in the genre of Thelma and Louise, Easy Rider and Route 66, with Sharon Stone (Basic Instinct ) touted for the starring role.
TriStar already has the rights to remake Woo's 1988 blockbuster The Killer, with Richard Gere and Denzel Washington replacing Danny Lee and Chow Yun-fatt in the starring roles, although Woo is unlikely to be involved in the new version.
