Hello Trail friends!
Long shot but I was wondering if anyone on here has worked at Denali NP and what their experience was like. How was the culture , work projects, crew dynamics, etc etc. ?? Any information would be appreciated. Thanksss Happy Winter!

Thanks for the information! I've done trail work in the Sierra Nevada mountains so mostly backcountry stuff. A lot of the training was indeed rigging and saw stuff so similar to what you mentioned. It makes sense that Denali would be big on heavy equipment given their minimal trail system. I was surprised to read that most of the supervisors were young and green tho ... I'll have to keep researching the park and reach out to see what projects they have lined up and put my application out there.
Thanks again!

I worked with Americorp, doing projects in DNP for 2 months. We did mostly front country trail work, on highly traveled trails mostly doing erosion control with that much foot traffic. The other half was brush clearing. A lot of dragging alder 10 yards off trail and spreading around to lessen visual clutter of burn piles. We weren't allowed to use machinery because of Park restrictions on loud equipment, so no brushers, chainsaws or such. Mostly hand tools, which I found more rewarding. I doubt you would be doing any actual trail construction, tbh.
