Space Warps ESA Euclid Q1 Classify

Andrey CRB Gorokhov

This certificate is awarded to Andrey CRB Gorokhov in recognition and

appreciation of your invaluable contribution to the Zooniverse Space Warps

search for strong gravitational lenses in the ESA Euclid Classify

Quicklook-1 data. Thank you for your time and dedication to this project

that would not be possible without you. Congratulations!!!

Space Warps ESA Euclid Q1 Classify

Certificate Notes

The Space Warps ESA Euclid Q1 Classify project ran on the Quicklook-1 data from the Euclid satellite. This tiny dataset, only

63 square degrees from the eventual 14,000 square degree full Euclid wide area, was taken from 1 week of observations. This

data set is a preview test bed for the community to investigate Euclid data ahead of the forthcoming data release 1 (about 30

times larger than Q1) that will be released publicly in October 2026 and internally to the Euclid collaboration 1 year earlier.

This is certificate corresponds to all classifications you carried out on the Q1 data. This includes the sample presented initially

in Walmsley et al. and also those from Saamie Vincken and Leon Roman Ecker’s additional samples (not yet published).

We are so very grateful for your classifications, time and expertise. Space Warps is in all aspects reliant on the collective

classification from the crowd. Without the bulk of the classifications removing images that do not contain lenses, we wouldn’t

be able to find the rare needles in a haystack that are probable lens candidates. These are only seen by chance and those who

classify late in the project (after more non-lenses have been removed) are more likely to see probable candidates). Each lens

discovered is therefore the result of all of the crowd’s classifications, the success belongs to everyone who has participated.

In the certificate we show the total number of classifications made, the number of vital rejections, and the number of eventual

probable and possible lenses that were delivered to your classification stream. We typically group grade A ‘definite lenses’ and

grade B ‘probable lenses’ as the sample of high reliability lens candidates. We give the number of these A&B candidates that

appeared in your classification stream under “Probable lenses seen”. We also note those images you classified that might be

lenses (so called grade C candidates), for these it’s too difficult to be sure they are a lens. You can find info on these final grade

A,B,C lenses that you saw on the next page.

Note: Classification numbers may be different to what you see on Zooniverse due to cleaning for duplicates and non-logged in

classifications. This doesn’t yet include the Spae Warps Refine classifications, a eparate certificate will be issued for that.

Further information on Space Warps is available on the Space Warps blog, and the main site about and results pages.
