The Higher Self is not the same thing as the spirit guide(s), but they are said to work together.
I recently saw this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-tRzYgfHVI) about spirit guides being parasites, what do you think?
This is an interesting idea albeit the video is slightly mired down.
Several people have posed this idea before, it may be true. Thing is I haven't spoken to Anthro for a while now and I don't feel fully certain of my WordFinder answers so I can't confirm with certainty like I did before. So I apologize.
What the spirit guides say is not mandates. You can say "No" and ignore it. Due to the law of free will they're supposed to agree with your "No", and step aside. If they don't, you can still continue to say "No", and if they still don't, they might be parasites.
The Higher Self (Divine Inner Self... wow Cameron Day was ahead of his time) will never betray you as far as I know. The Higher Self is you from a distant 6th Density future, here to help you.
I once shoved Angels into the same parasite category as spirit guides, however since Anthro confirmed they're so incredibly high dimensional, and when Archangel Michael got that titanic lightship, added to Anthro & me having Angel forms (and/or Catalaya being identified as a real Angel)... due to that, perhaps Angels may be trustworthy, at least more trustworthy than guides.
As for the rest of the video: it thinks we're in a simulation, which is incorrect, we seem to be closer to a "free action", where even if a lifetime is supposed to have an outcome like "learn kindness", a person can fail, it's allowed, therefore shortcircuiting the "predetermined simulation" theory.
The idea of firing the spirit guides is radical and I've heard it before, but I don't know if it actually works, if you can remove those beings. Psychics describe the angels and other positives around you as a "spirit team" that works together.
The easy way doesn't have to be a lie. Like devotion is very easy compared to Ra's old way (Service to Others climbing across densities, billions of years), but it isn't a fraud.
When that person's guide told him to not explore his past lives, it wasn't a mandate. He could've just fine. Life, amusingly enough, is full of distractions, but being all gung-ho about progress... not smelling the flowers, does it lead you to progress faster? I'm not putting it clearly enough, but smelling the flowers isn't a bad thing. My mentor told me that once, a long time ago.
I don't know if the reincarnation trap is still around, which was some of the video's focus.
Another person said that if you sorta "initiate" into being a spirit guide (I forgot the exact words sorry) it's false light implants and worse, indeed.

There are various degrees/depths of channeling, and the strongest one is sorta like controlled possession, but there's also the modality where the entity speaks and you relay his/her words with your own mouth
Just as with the false lords of karma being gone, the "cage of dark energy" around Earth (which looked like a hamster cage with rectangular holes), may also be gone. That one can be twisted to sound like a matrix.
