Whatever people say, there are two key signals from the US strategy in this war that indicate how seriously we take Iran as a threat:
• The preemptive evacuation of bases and hesitance to fully restaff them
• The refusal to run escorts through the Strait
Whatever bluster people produce, however many drone launchers or ships they claim are destroyed, these two basic realities expose the real balance of power in the conflict. A meaningful shift in that balance would see one or both of these situations changing. There's no indication such a shift is underway or likely to happen anytime soon.
