Disc 12: Apex Predator - a summary / partial translation

Prior translations / an explanation as to what the fuck this is.

If you read any of these translations, make it this one.

I can’t even begin to describe what is happening here. You just need to let it happen to you. Major CW for suicide though, Misa’s death is elaborated upon greatly and not in the most sensitive way.

Disc 11: Flame - a summary / partial translation

Prior translations / an explanation as to what the fuck this is.

This disc features: a lot more infuriating debate between Mikami and Virilio (the writing team really can’t be bothered to even pretend Mikami has a point for the sake of narrative), an absolutely unreasonable amount of sex, and also someone being called a high functioning sociopath………

Disc 10: Karma Police - a summary / partial translation

Prior translations / an explanation as to what the fuck this is.

After I majorly burned myself out on doing these, I am BACK with the rest of this drama in tow. 10 down, 2 to go.

In this: nonsensical but wild shinigami lore, confirmation of ghosts, an actually sad dialogue of grief over Soichiro, and transparently agenda-based bad writing decisions that make me lose my mind with how bad they are.

SHIT FINALLY GOES DOWN. Mello and Near appear, Soichiro retires (or tries to) and L explores the afterlife!

Disc 8: Live Transmission  - a summary / partial translation

Prior translations / an explanation as to what the fuck this is.

Despite the cover image, Near only shows up on the next disc, tragically.

In this disc, fundamentally nothing of interest happens. It entirely focuses on the span between the start of the Higuchi chase and Rem deciding to kill L, with very few additions that are at all intriguing.

Next disc though, major stuff is back in play, so look forward to that.

Disc 7: Double Agents  - a summary / partial translation

Honestly, not much new happens in this part, but there is some funny banter between Matsuda and Ivor (Aiber); and between Light and L.

Disc 6: Grey-zone  - a summary / partial translation

Prior translations / an explanation as to what the fuck this is.

In this: Rem dragging business men, a lot. NightGod228, the playboy. A minor character gets confirmed as gay, but only as part of a homophobic humorous quip, so let’s not get excited. There’s also some fun focus on the internal relations of the Yotsuba Eight, but sadly nothing becomes of it in later discs.

Hatori is inexplicably nicknamed ‘Harry’.

By the way, if you want more detail about any scene in the audio drama, you can just ask me for it. I’m currently only glossing over all the bits that aren’t particularly new or funny, but my own priorities aren’t everyone else’s priorities, so if you want more information about anything, feel free to request it.

This shorter way is just time and effort saving for me, it’s not meant to lock you guys out of content you might care about.

Disc 5: Exclusion Criteria - a summary / partial translation

Prior translations / an explanation as to what the fuck this is.

In this: Rem dragging Misa for like a minute before then settling into her usual ‘I’d die for her’ pattern without a single explanation. Light, Misa, Rem and Ryuk going to Space Land! L arguing with a waiter! Otherwise there is a whole lot of canon-close plotting going on.

Disc 4: Proof of Loyalty - a summary / partial translation

Prior translations / an explanation as to what the fuck this is.

The plot is still manga-close. This episode is honestly fairly boring, it’s full of homophobic jokes that nobody asked for. But hey, Misa is here now!
