Seeing Tan Wind Waker Link in that fancomic brought me to a realization.... all the Links would be tan. They spend a lot of time travelling Hyrule in all sorts of whether but it is usually fairly sunny. The one exception I can think of might be Twilight Link but still.
But the tannest would definitely be Wind Waker Link and Skyward Sword Link. Because Wind Waker Link lives on a sunny little island for all his life and then he sails around the sea on a boat that has absolutely no shade, save for the sail. Which would mean for shade, the direction he's going, the wind, and the sun would all have to co-operate.
As for Skyward Sword Link... he literally lives above the clouds. It's gonna be sunny pretty much all day every day there.
I've seen some really REALLY cool black sky designs that are honestly so peak and would also make sense, with skyloft being in the clouds with the sun right on them, skyloftians having darker skin is just *chef's kiss* peak character design
I also love the tan wind agenda cause it makes sense for him! And I've also seen great black wind designs too that are literally so good, I love those too
I personally like to stay as close to the OG designs as possible if the characters aren't mine so I try to stay as close to jojo's designs for this au, but I love it when people play with the links designs, makes it all so fun 🥹💖
And from then on the Chain made sure they knew exactly where Hyrule and Wild were at all times. Especially Wild.
