There has been a longstanding rivalry between Pokémon and Digimon. Fans have argued since the 1990s which is superior. Digimon tends to have superior stories, while Pokémon emphasizes a sense of community. The creatures (or "mons") themselves are constantly pitted against one another in fantasy battles.

Pokémon designs have gotten to the point where some of them seem to take cues from Digimon. Some Pokémon are just anthropomorphized objects, while others look like they'd fit right in with the first few seasons of Digimon. A Pokémon standing on two legs or possessing an ordinary object can look just like a Digimon. These Pokémon would confuse those who have been out of the loop for some time.

10 Trubbish

Trubbish - Pokemon Anime

Introduced in the Sword and Shield games, Trubbish is a trash bag Pokémon. This poison type can shoot out corrosive acid or toxic fumes with the right moves. Trubbish may as well just be a Digimon. It could be the embodiment of a computer's recycle bin. Dumping a recycling bin the wrong way could result in a Trubbish.

Digimon can have strange forms sometimes. Being a living pile of trash is more akin to Digimon than Pokémon. Even so, the team at Game Freak came up with this stinky little creature. It may only be popular for the self-deprecating memes, but Trubbish is a half decent Poison type.

9 Rotom

Rotom smiling in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Rotom became part of the games during Gen IV (Diamond and Pearl), but it's one of the first examples of a Pokémon that could easily be a Digimon. Rotom is an electric and ghost type that can possess various appliances, such as a lawn mower or refrigerator. This type of behavior could easily be in an episode of Digimon Ghost Game.

Rotom looks like a Digimon, too. It could easily be a Digimon with its abilities and appearance. Rotom manipulating data would be easy since in later games they turned it into a smartphone and a Pokedex. Rotom could be quite the hassle for the Digidestined or any Digimon Tamer.

8 Polteageist

A perfect compliment to the Britain-inspired Galar region, Polteageist is a possessed teapot. A Ghost-type, Polteageist can perform various curses and hexes. This Pokémon could easily represent a British person's anguish or a tea shop owner's lost dreams.

Digimon Ghost Game would be the perfect place for Polteageist. It could fly around haunting tea shops or tearooms across the country. A ghostly teapot could be a yokai of sorts wandering around the digital world. Polteageist would certainly fit better into the world of Digimon.

7 Vanillite

Vanillite in Pokemon

Introduced in Black and White, Vanillite is an ice cream cone. What led to the creation of this delicious Pokémon is anyone's guess. Vanillite is an Ice-type that wouldn't be out of place at Dairy Queen. In the Digimon world, it could be the manifestation of a disgruntled ice cream truck driver.

The data for this tasty treat could easily be stored in a cooling unit for a PC. If there aren't any edible Digimon, Vanillite would be the first. Vanillite's existence leads to several questions about Pokémon biology, especially since its final form is a double cone. Pokémon Professors may never know how an ice cream cone became sentient.

6 Cyclizar

Cyclizar is a Dragon and Normal type from the Paldea region (Scarlet and Violet). Cyclizar rides around like a bicycle with the wheel in its torso. It is a cool looking Pokémon. Some may even say it looks like Guilmon from Digimon Tamers.

Cyclizar looks like it could be a Rookie-level Digimon. It could digivolve into a giant motorcycle Digimon or even a monster truck. Cyclizar uses its momentum and Dragon type moves to topple opponents. It wouldn't be surprising if random people on the street mistook Cyclizar for a Digimon.

Dragon type Pokémon are some of the most powerful and most popular creatures in the entire franchise, and they are unique in more ways than once.

5 Greninja

Ash's Greninja waiting to make a move in the Pokemon anime

Greninja is the fully evolved form of Froakie, the Water starter from Kalos. Greninja is a ninja-inspired Pokémon with attacks such as Water Shuriken. It looks like a Champion-level Digimon or a Digimon that the Digidestined could transform into in Digimon Frontier.

Greninja has cool moves and an interesting aesthetic. It wouldn't be out of place as a Digimon. Greninja would throw a Water Shuriken at Myotismon and try to outrun him. Greninja is a powerful Pokémon that even served Ash well during the X & Y anime. Whether as a Pokémon or Digimon, Greninja is not to be trifled with.

4 Delphox

Pokemon Delphox pointing with stick in anime

Delphox is the fully evolved form of Fennekin, the fire starter from Kalos. Delphox is very much like a wizard, using a stick as a wand to perform Psychic attacks. Like Greninja, it could be a Champion-level Digimon. Psychic powers aren't typical for Digimon to possess, but there's a first time for everything.

Delphox would fit perfectly into the Digimon world. It would use a fire attack similar to Agumon's Pepper Breath. Delphox would be a good Digimon companion due to its perceptive nature and powerful attacks. Delphox could even perform magic if it were a Digimon. Said magic may just be a collection of data, but it would still be useful.

3 Meowscarada

Meowscarada in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Meowscarada is the fully evolved form of Sprigatito, the grass starter from Paldea. Meowscarada is based on Spanish heroes such as Zorro. Meowscarada would be perfect as a Champion-level companion. Meowscarada's signature move, Flower Trick, is quite powerful and would translate well to Digimon.

Meowscarada would fit in as a partner of one of the Digidestined. It could definitely be an evolution of Gatomon. This creature is probably one of the best Grass starters in Pokémon history. Transitioning to the role of a Digimon would only further prove its versatility.

2 Rillaboom

The fully evolved form of Grookey from Sword and Shield, Rillaboom is a formidable Pokémon. Rillaboom is a drummer who beats on both its drums and its chest. Rillaboom is a gorilla-like creature, but is reminiscent of Leomon.

With its strength, Rillaboom could be a great Digimon ally. It can summon powerful attacks with its drums. Rillaboom would probably be a Champion-level Digimon, like many modern fully evolved starters. Rillaboom would use its percussion-based powers to defend the Digital world by way of sound.

1 Scorbunny

Scorbunny in Pokémon Pokémon Sword and Shield standing proudly.

Scorbunny is the Fire starter Pokémon of the Galar region and is basically the mascot for the region. This creature would make the perfect Rookie Digimon partner. WIth its speed and fire-based attacks, it could be the modern answer to Agumon.

Scorbunny is a cute, yet fierce Pokémon. It would fit in well on any team, Pokémon or Digimon. A rabbit Digimon like this could be the ultimate underdog. This creature has a ton of energy and a lot of heart. Scorbunny could Digivolve into Cinderace and wreck some folks with its soccer-based attacks.
