June 19th, 2025: Juneteenth today. I woke up at 5:40am to get myself some cereal and milk for breakfast with some coffee. I heard from the missionary that the Archbishop was going to be serving mass at this church at 8:00am. I got onto the bus with just enough time. But I realized that I would have to quickly make my way to my therapy session because it would take two bus transfers. I got off at my stop and walked over to the church. I went inside and noticed that it was kind of contemporary for my tastes. I got past the cafeteria and into the chapel. The things you kneel on were so old that it hurt less to just kneel on the ground, I said hi to the Archbishop but he didn’t recognize me and just said hi back. I sat next to the missionary and this one guy who is discerning the priesthood. The missionary said that he could get me someone to drive me to therapy after the mass was done. There were multiple priests presiding with the Archbishop as the main one and some others were Pops and this one priest with a limp. The music was what you would expect in a historically Black Baptist church with a Black guy on the drums and another Black guy on either a bass guitar or the piano with an older White woman on the electric piano and finally the choir. The altar was super plain and the parishioners were mostly older White people followed by an even mix of Black people. There was this one young woman veiling two rows in front of us. The homily was about June 19th, 1865 when the final order to enforce the end of slavery everywhere had been issued. Perhaps the best thing about the mass is that they were offering both the bread and the wine. I had a little sip of the wine and then I sat down for the final song before leaving. I got some coffee but only managed to put my sugar in it when the missionary yelled at me:
“Come on you have to go now!”
I went out with him past the cookout to find out that Pops was driving me to where I needed to be dropped off. We talked a bit in the car and then I got into therapy. I ended up being on time while the therapist was a bit late. In therapy I mostly talked about what I was doing over the summer and that I am glad that Enosh is back home in Stillwater. I was asked if I was talking to any girls and I mentioned the Daeguite and Naomi. I then had to leave at 10:02pm and walked through a nature trail to get to my work. I clocked in at 10:23am and started on my first task which was to stock the beverage cooler. I got a list done for the first half of the beverage cooler before I got the call on my walkie talkie from Will:
“Hey Gemerson, come to the back!”
I went to the back and found that there was a large shipment we had to deal with. Jesse and John worked on counting the two pallets while Will was operating the forklift and Max was reading items off a list to check if we got them. I then had to go upstairs as the other employee who always plays dubstep when he’s packaging stuff in the warehouse. I put it on plastic pallets and hauled them to the warehouse and then unloaded them. I saw that the Italian lady was working today and said hi to her. I then went into the break room and encountered this new woman sitting. I decided to chat with her. I will be calling her Jill, she used to be a bartender at a zoo until business turned down because of inflation making people go less despite being 20 (birthday’s December 20th, 2004) and she hates the smell of meat and cheese. I think the biggest bombshell she dropped is that Bill is her father and that her mother pressured her to start working here, with the fact that the newest guy in my department, who I will be calling Hill. She said that they would go to the gym together sometimes. I finally got back to working on the beverage cooler and had to redo the count. I finished that up before I got a prosciutto sandwich from Biker and waited for that. I saw Jill working with some cheese and I joked to her:
“Enjoy the smell?”
She said to me:
“No!”
I then replied:
“Are you at least getting used to it?”
She told me:
“I hope I will.”
I went up to get my sandwich paid for but my employee discount didn’t work. I then went on my lunch break and ate my sandwich, while I was eating, Tiffany passed by wearing a yellow t-shirt and a pair of blue overalls with only one strap buttoned and it was for the opposite side. I told her:
“Why do you have only one strap of your overalls buttoned?”
She got all snarky:
“What, do you have a problem with that?”
I fought back verbally:
“What if someone came in and robbed only the people wearing their overalls improperly?”
She kept it going:
“I just wouldn’t let them.”
“Ok so you’re gonna button them correctly the moment the robber comes in?”
“They just won’t rob me!”
I continued eating my lunch before heading back to work. After that was my next task of wiping all the windows clean, it was hectic but I had some of it done for me because fAsherah had cleaned some of the windows, I talked to their manager for a bit and then I went upstairs to put my phone on the charger, I went downstairs and completed the rest of my window washing before I walked near one of the office ladies and where Tiffany was standing. She then said:
“Gemerson was giving me an attitude today!”
The office lady replied:
“Why’s that”
“He told me that I was wearing my overalls wrong and I was going to get robbed!”
I corrected them:
“No I said that there might be someone who comes in and robs the people wearing overalls improperly!”
The office lady replied:
“What if someone came in and robbed everybody wearing a white shirt?”
I corrected her:
“I’m not wearing it improperly!”
I stocked the beverage stuff some more and had a conversation between Tiffany and her manager. I ended up telling them my full name and also the names of my sister, dad, and mom. Tiffany remarked that my parents chose interesting names. At 4:19pm I got a text from my mom reading:
<Hey, I'm going to swing by your place on my way home. I should be there about 9:00. To drop off those air conditioning parts.
<Are you going to be around?
I told her I would be. I helped Tony a little bit and then got started on my closing tasks alone. I had to deal with Matt walking into the puddle of soapy water in the back, but I got most of them done early, when I was going out to empty the garbages, I saw the black cat that meows at me through the window and immediately went in to tell fAsherah, she went out with me to see it and meow back at the cat. I then faced the store a bit until I clocked out a bit late and bought some bread sticks with this new salad dressing and then took the bus home. I cleaned up my place a bit. I went over to the convenience store to get some rigatoni and took it back and cooked some pasta with kale pesto sauce. I kept the pasta water in the sauce after cooking and ate it. I also drank some of the fiber stuff and G-Fuel. At 8:48am my mom arrived and came into my apartment. She got mad at me for not folding my socks because they looked so familiar. I gave her the food as the breadsticks were payment for my dad. She got this extension cord for the air conditioner and got it set up and running at 72 degrees, we then said goodbye and I worked on my blog and the booru, I took a shower. I had G-Fuel at 10:40pm while working on my blog entry. I think I should mix it more.
