started using mozilla firefox again this year, underrated browser!
Big news for the open web 🔥 we were the most downloaded app on Flathub in 2025, ahead of Chrome. Thank you for continuing to choose Firefox. flathub.org/en-GB/year-i...
Exactly. We know not everyone wants AI, which is why our approach is different. Firefox is not becoming an AI browser. Features are optional, clearly labeled, and fully under your control with a total opt-out coming early next year. It won't please everyone but we believe you deserve choice.
Not to brag but Firefox on Android is fully loaded: sync, privacy, hundreds of extensions, customization, and more 🔥
Pro tip: Type @tabs or @bookmarks right in the address bar to find what you need without breaking focus
Websites can often track you even with cookies blocked. We just made that a lot harder. See how👇 blog.mozilla.org/en/firefox/f...
Out-of-order HTML patching, another proposal from TPAC, lets HTML be presented non-linearly, and a single file can update multiple parts of the page.
Would this feature be useful to you?
I am switching over my browser from Chrome to . I will not take questions at this time. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Firefox 143 is here, check out what's new:
✔️ Drag tabs to pin them. Simple, effective.
✔️ Camera preview in permission dialog. No more guesswork.
✔️ Stronger Fingerprinting Protection.
✔️ Smarter Private Browsing downloads (decide to keep or auto-delete).

Interop 2026 is now open for proposals!
This is your chance to tell browser-makers which well-defined, well-tested features you wish had better support across browsers.
⬇️ Here's how ⬇️

Forget about tab > remember tab > close tab > regret closing tab > reopen tab with cmd/ctrl+shift+t > repeat
if you don't have at least 3 random beverages on your desk and 36+ open tabs with no memory of having opened them, are you even browsing?
Imagine a world where there's only one brand of car. Yeah... not great. That’s basically what’s happening with your browser. Let’s do a deep dive 👇1/7
So using Firefox and supporting Gecko-based browsers is pretty defiant. What you’re saying is: I believe the internet belongs to all of us, not just a select few.
Thanks for coming to our ted talk! Here’s a flame 🔥 7/7
Safari itself is part of the Apple ecosystem, and that’s what we meant when we said ‘closed' and with limited flexibility. Appreciate those who are fairly pointing out that WebKit is open source.
Yay! It's the first Firefox release since I've joined the team, so let's take a look at some of the new developer-facing features in Firefox 142… 🧵
Firefox 142 is out.
Still not the answer to life, the universe, and everything…
…but it will fix your tab groups 😌
Who do you trust outside the algorithm? For Substack writer and internet decoder Ochuko, the answer is simple: her group chats.
Today’s #dailydefiance challenge: Check your chats before your feed 👀 mozillasidebar.substack.com/p/gen-z-algo...
Most people just use the browser that came with their device but hear us out… What if you didn’t ?
This month we'll be posting about small acts of daily defiance that help us take back control. Share yours with #dailydefiance and we'll RP our faves 🔥
send tab to device feature is so very useful.
For example: get a text message on phone with link to "follow my delivery" UPS tracking. Open link on mobile firefox, hit share, and send to desktop instance of firefox.
Kudos to firefox team for that one!
it's your friendly neighborhood internet fox reminding you that adblockers still work over here 🔥
"you look happier." thanks, we stopped accepting the default and life has never been better 🔥
"what's your favorite horror movie?" oh we don't know, maybe when we had 89 open tabs and we couldn't find which one was playing audio 😭
firefox 141
tabs sort themselves
address bar knows math
linux builds less hungry
autofill expanded to 🇧🇷 🇪🇸 🇯🇵
just browser
"why can't you concentrate?" maybe because our nervous system is in a group chat with 14 browser tabs and 3 slack channels 🫠 blog.mozilla.org/en/firefox/m...
Hey Bluesky friends, what kind of content would you like to see more of on our page? 🤔
Pro tip: if you’re using vertical tabs, turn on “expand sidebar on hover” you're welcome
Bet you didn't know that we speak over 400 languages 😌 all thanks to thousands of volunteer localizers around the world who make Firefox feel like home blog.mozilla.org/en/firefox/f...
Accidentally opened the same tab 7 times? Right-click any tab → choose "close duplicate tab" and boom 🔥
🤖 Not that I would want a AI-chatbot inside the browser, but I am very thankful atleast they would let me pick what service I would like.
More companies would adopt this strategy if they where consumer first.
Thanks
Multi account containers for the win because mixing work tabs with 3am rabbit-hole browsing tabs is a recipe for disaster 😅
New week, new Firefox theme. Head over to tools → add-ons & themes → choose a theme that matches your mood 🔥
We're not saying we opened 6 tabs for flights and snacks while writing this blog... but we're also not not saying that 😅https://blog.mozilla.org/en/firefox/travel-features/
New Firefox alert!
• Resize pinned vertical tabs for a cleaner, quicker view
• Hide the extensions shortcut for a cleaner toolbar. Still accessible via the menu.
• Unload tabs by right-clicking to free up memory & boost performance

Our address bar just got smarter. Run commands, search your tabs, switch engines, and clear your history all without leaving the bar.

psssst every time you browse online you can support an open web by using Firefox 🔥
Custom wallpapers. Link previews. Tab control.
Try experimental features straight from your browser settings 🔥 blog.mozilla.org/en/firefox/f...
When you accidentally close a tab, simply use “Command+Shift+T” to reopen it.
This feature can be repeated for previously closed tabs, but let’s be honest... do you really NEED all of them?
Testing now: Firefox profiles. Built with accessibility in mind, better for everyone. Try it early 👇 blog.mozilla.org/en/firefox/s...

OMG @firefox.com has tab groups. Finally.
It's world password day... time to update that pw you've had since highschool (you know who you are)
Here's some tips 💪 blog.mozilla.org/en/firefox/f...
Turns out when 4,500 of you ask for something it actually comes to life...
Tab groups are here 🫶 blog.mozilla.org/en/firefox/t...
Did you know we have an experimental features menu? 👀
It's called Firefox Labs. You can test features in development, give feedback and help shape what's next.
Start testing custom wallpapers, sidebar passwords and more! Check it out support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fir...
If you haven't already, you should really explore a different browser of your computer and mobile devices. I'd suggest or a fork of FireFox.

Not all heroes wear capes. Some:
✔️ Mod the chaos
✔️ Bring up AI bias at brunch
✔️ Won’t rest until tabs are vertical, grouped, color-coded and emotionally supportive

It’s time to close your emotional support tabs (or at least organize them with vertical tabs) 😅
Every day is an opportunity to start brand new (and switch to Firefox) 🔥
Firefox now has vertical tabs! And grouped tabs! And a floating video viewer! All my dreams came true! 🦊🧡

just gotta say 's new vertical tabs is awesome coz i havent seen it mentioned enough!
I'm a vertical tabs convert, super space efficient with them collapsed and that CTRL+Z key command (to expand/collapse) is getting committed to muscle memory. Thanks 🦊

Do you ever wish you could turn VPN off for that one site that keeps breaking? We might have something for that...
Introducing the Mozilla VPN extension for Firefox 🔥
Windows users can now:

✔️ Choose location for each site (so you can read news from London & stream content in Tokyo)

Oh nice, looks like you can turn on tab groups in @firefox.com as an experimental feature.
Just enter "about:config" into the address bar, click the "Accept the Risk and Continue" button, search for the browser.tabs.groups.enabled setting, and toggle it to true.
Wish I would've known this earlier
Pi is an irrational number that goes on forever...and ever...kinda like our browser tabs 😅
If you could only choose one Firefox extension for the rest of your life, which would it be? (Don’t worry, we won’t tell the other ones)

Happy Internet Friends Day to our long time pal that we often get confused with, @firefox.com 💚🦊
Did you know that Firefox is a wonderful alternative to Google Chrome? It also has a handy feature where it can import all of your saved data like bookmarks, auto fills, and passwords over from Chrome! #justathought 💚
Being an open-source browser means:
✔️ anyone can contribute to making it better
✔️ anyone can inspect our code
✔️ It's for the people, by the people
Pro tip: Ctrl/cmd + shift + T will bring back any tabs you accidentally closed... but maybe it's okay to close tabs every once in a while? 😅
Can enough people like this so we can convince the team to make a Firefox plushie? Thank youuuu

Hey @firefox.com now that you're here I just want you to know a colleague of mine once had a cute little Firefox desk plush and I was immensely jealous.
It fake-held up his webcam every day and omg the lil guy was too cute 😭
