when I search a book on audiobookbay there are multiple versions of that book. How can I choose among them?

I am useing an app called smart audiobook on my phone and can listen to books I downloaded with that, but what is a good "library managment" program on my pc to save all my books on and easily transfer them back and forth? Thanks in advance, this is all new to me. I also have recently downloaded libation and would like to put those books in it as well but that is a secondary problem right now since they are safly backed up and I can listen with audible.

I’m having trouble copying the magnet link properly and every time I try to paste it into seedr it always says there’s no file detected at given url

I’m using the google app and can copy the ‘magnet’ link but the magnet icon next to it isn’t giving me an option to copy the url, only the image? Am I doing something wrong or missing something on how to copy the link over?

I also saw someone mention to use the info hash code and tried that, but it said the same thing that there was no file at the given url. I’ve tried it with 2 different audiobooks so far and neither have worked

This is what happens when I try to go to it or any of the alternative sites for it. All other sites work.

Important details:

• All other websites work fine

• ABB works instantly when I turn ON a VPN

• Without VPN → infinite loading / timeout

• No “site blocked by DoT” message — just timeout

I downloaded like 15 books after I learned of the site just googling, I've been a casual torrenter since Napster the early 2000s. I don't typically torrent a lot and I know about using a VPN I just never did it.

Then I was browsing around about basically torrenting audiobooks being especially risky and I'm slightly nervous.

I once got a letter for torrenting in 2013 and it was because I'd downloaded a very brand new movie but nothing ever happened.

I'm going to set up a VPN before downloading any more, should I be nervous?

I used uTorrent on my cell phone, which apparently also isn't the best but I've used it forever with no issues.

If you use AudioBookBay you'll know the pain, the magnet links on the site demand a login, and getting an account validated is a nightmare. So I built a small Chrome/Edge/Firefox extension that bypasses all of that.

What it does:

When you open any audiobooks (audiobook details) page on ABB, a small banner automatically pops up at the top of the page showing the book title and two buttons, Get Magnet and Cancel. Click Get Magnet and it fires straight to qBittorrent (or whatever client you use). No login, no copying or pasting hashes, no messing around.

It works by scraping the Info Hash and trackers directly from the page and building a clean magnet link itself.

Has anyone gotten these files to work on the google play audiobooks app. I know you have to use the website to upload files but it doesn't seem like they are compatible. I tried using the smart audiobook player app too but I don't really like the interface.

Do you guys suggest any other apps?

You can access their sharing history and get the book you want

UPDATE: I just learned from the (where Prowlarr support community is now located) that ABB has specifically requested Prowlarr remove support for their site. They have honored that request (as they will for any other like site; i.e., all the *bay sites).

I don't see ABB listed in the default list of indexers, so I added a custom one (/Defintions/Custom/audiobookbay.yml) using 1337x as the template.

The option is available now in the list of indexers to add; however, it cannot successfully connect.

Not sure if this is just me, but I've been looking up authors I frequently enjoy to find more books (or more in a series). But I've noticed for essentially all I've looked up this far, there's only a few books now. Not even a page for literally all of them. Previously, for most authors, there were 2-7 pages of results.

One author that had 6-7 pages of results days ago is completely gone now! No books at all. (Edit: oh wait, I found one single book left from his name being searched a different way. Its abbreviated, so ex. "S.G." being searched "SG".) Books I very recently downloaded have disappeared from searches.

So, I am kinda confused on if this is a temporary thing, a glitch on my end, or if something else is going on, like the books being removed or taken down? Has anyone else noticed this or know what might be happening?

UPDATE: After a couple folks mentioned an issue with the search engine, I found one book from an author I enjoy - Sara Raasch - and went to the person that uploaded its' profile. I found multiple books under her name there, I just can't seem to access them.

So it seems to indeed be, as some folks suggested, an issue with the search engine. I still can't access the books from that point though, so I'm not sure if that means I can't access any of the "hidden" ones until this is fixed, or if there's another way I'm missing. I know some profile names that upload authors I tend to like just because I saw the names a lot, but I still can't access them from their profile lol. I'm on mobile, if that matters (with a vpn). Would appreciate any suggestions.

UPDATE 2: It seems to be fixed now! I noticed this morning but forgot to update the post. Thanks for y'all's help, I was afraid a shit ton of books were being taken down. So I'm glad that wasn't the case.

Can't really browse the website or download torrents, like I'll refresh every few minutes, the website will show up, then I'll search for something, then I get the error again. Hi, I’m new here and I’m having a really hard time with the audiobook website’s login system. Every time I try to download an audiobook using the blue “magnet link” text, it asks me to log in again even though I’m already logged in. When the login window pops up, it keeps telling me my username and password are both incorrect.

I know for sure they’re right — I wrote them down on paper, copied them into Notepad, and even checked the registration email I received, which lists the exact username and password I created. I’ve copied and pasted everything directly, but it still says it’s wrong.

I’m brand new to AudiobookBay and just discovered this site. I’ve mostly been using a service like Torbox for my downloading needs so far, and I’m really new to the whole torrenting thing. Honestly, I’m a bit nervous about downloading torrent files directly and I just want to make sure I do it safely.

So I’m wondering: if I don’t have a torrent client installed on my browser or PC, can I just use something like Torbox instead of doing the torrenting directly myself? Also, I noticed that when I try to copy the magnet link, it doesn’t actually copy anything for me. Am I missing something?

I have a problem with large audio files. Sometimes they just won’t download even though I have enough storage. And sometimes I don’t have enough storage for 4 GB worth of audiobooks.

My friend… has been torrenting movies for months now which is extremely easy, but he is trying to get into audiobooks as well. I was hoping someone could break down how to do this or the best way with the largest pool of books? Searching BitTorrent even with audiobook channels on Jackett, nothing comes up. This is what I saw as previous instructions years ago but wondering if it’s changed:

1. Go to the website which I’m pretty sure is done correctly (dot fi)

2. Find book and download, but this is where he’s getting hung up. When he clicks direct download it’s taking him to some “Cyber Pour” login page.

3. Open the downloaded file with BitTorrent somehow?

I am new to this file format and site, so bear with me. I use qbittorrent, and audibly to open the audiobook. but it claims to be corrupted and won't run it.

What should i do, am i missing something, and is audibly or that specific audiobook not any good?

Hi all! Was introduced to the wonders of audiobookbay but am bit apprehensive bc of the fear of viruses

1. NordVPN

2. copy the magnet link to Seedr.cc

3. download file and open it in bookplay

I’ve tried it once and it worked (I’m on iPhone btw) so I’m really excited, but just want to know if there’s anything I can do to be safer from viruses/malware!

You are likely experiencing an IP ban as I reported .

I found out that the IP ban I experienced was a 72 hour ban. My IP address can now access the site. Their server firewall or whatever is overzealous in how it determines if an IP needs banned or not then bans it for 72 hours. I suspect X amount of 72 hour bans in Y months will result in a longer ban for that IP address, possibly permanent.

Point is, if you can't access the site and others are telling you they can, then use Tor browser or a VPN. If you are already using a VPN, change the IP address you're using until you find on that works. During that whole 72 hour ban, I never had an issue accessing the site with Tor browser.

Sites (.lu and others) have been down for me since last night. Various websites that check if a site is down say the site is up and running.

So this morning I thought to check the site through Tor browser and I can access it that way.

So it looks like my ip address is blocked by the site. Unfortunately I can't get a new IP address from my ISP and have had the same one since I signed on with this ISP (11 months ago).

It won’t play on any of my apps.
I’m guessing it’s DRM-protected, but I’m not sure what that means or what I need to do to make it playable.

I used to download audiobooks from Audiobookbay and sync them to my devices using iTunes on my old Mac. Now that iTunes is gone and I've upgraded to an iPhone 16 Pro Max, I'm stuck.

What's the current, simplest method to get audiobooks from Audiobookbay onto an iPhone? Is there a specific app you recommend for downloading and playing the files directly on the phone?

I started an audiobook collection about 4 months ago and I read opus format was a space saver especially for audiobooks since they don't need lossless quality. So I've been converting all my files to opus from mp3, m4b, etc using convopus and more recently I discovered ffmpeg can do it too.

I've noticed though that more often than not the opus file ends up bigger than the original and I'm not sure why based one everything I read online about it saving space. What am I doing wrong?
