why she got the femcel phenotype 😭😭
(think y’all are kind of hating unwarrantedly…think y’all are looking back at both your own lives as teenagers and at the silent hill franchise w rose tinted glasses. the series has def been more subtle in the past but not that much more so. besides subtlety is definitely dead in 2024,, idk if there’s a place for it anymore and that’s okay !! and idk teenagers are just kind of like this,, whiny and self victimizing,, ik I was. so like yeah the writing can be a little bit cringey ig but teenagers are so fucking cringey and lame that I can’t help but to view it w empathy. more so viewing the writing w empathy than what the actual characters are going through,, like parts of dialogue and thought processes do hit and seem like smth an insufferable 19 yo would say. and the dev team def knew what they were cooking,, most of the things they’ve worked on seem real cool and full of interesting ideas. graffiti is so cool lol and the there’s so many small details in every room of the game,, my ass was rubbernecking and abusing that zoom in feature. loved all the maya scenes,, genuinely think the bad lipsyncing rlly adds to the “UNCANNY VALLEY” look and feel of those scenes,, need to jack her zip up turtleneck frfr. think this works rlly well as like a proof of concept type thing for a longer rouguelike type of sh game,, id be there for it. also like def there is smth to be said about how this game handles delicate and sensitive topics and that’s a very valid discussion to have but hmmm none of y’all are having it,, idk maybe you guys are just still mad that pt wasn’t made even though if it was you’d all be complaining so idk. hard to please asses.)
in conclusion. KREMIT PUTTING EVERYONE BISNESS OUT THERE IM FUCKING MISS PIGGY .YOU MAD OR NAHH YOU DAMN RIGHT IT AIN'T NONE OF YOUR BISNESS NOW STFU AND KEEP DRINKING THAT NASTY ASS TEA.

almost exclusively don’t fuck w hard games,, usually bounce off them real quick but idk this is sick. but yeah this should be hard bc dealing w ur own trauma and past is often very difficult and the game takes the title and makes it v literal,, playing through someone’s most traumatic moments and gameifying them. very fluid and smooth in gameplay and fair in its harshness. ending is on that accept urself or die type beat,,,on that mgs4 ending boss fight type wave.
go ahead get in since ur ass wanna act pronouns
go ahead get in since ur ass wanna act pronouns
fun soytendo game but idkk think all the jokes about like this destroying relationships w significant others are strange. lot of gross viral tiktoks of like men yelling at their girlfriends over this and idk that’s just not rlly funny lol,, call me crazy but I think that’s a little cringey and gross 😵💫
personally I had a v fun time playing this w my bf and i like that at the heart of this it’s just a puzzle game that rewards cooperation and patience 🥰

-feel like the other two games in the series do a fantastic job at making u feel as alone as max constantly is and he’s rlly not alone here like at all. too many characters are introduced, too many names mentioned, too much time spent protecting others or having them protect you. the nyc of the first game and sao paulo in three are map designs held up by lonely alleyways that exist only for you to kill as many ppl as u can as quick as possible and this rlly isn’t. the streets feel too alive and it disconnects you from the story bc max is so clearly not a real guy. he only feels real and believable when by himself and stewing in his own self pity and regrets
-has like very strange tonal dissonance that isn’t as present in other remedy games and def feels more like the rockstar influence on this one
-love how much of the in game television content in this is seemingly remedy taking shots at themselves which that’s funny and cute and self aware in a way that’s not fucking annoying. sam lake’s writing is always so deeply unsubtle and on the nose,, makes me smile seeing schizophrenic written in blood or all the diff times it’s mentioned that max is in a computer game.
-I don’t like the story here as much as 1/3 bc max is a piggy here :-// max isn’t acab here :-((
-tbh think mona’s face is probably modeled after julianne moore which fucking owns lol
-would actually be so surprised if anything they’ve ever done is better than the funhouse level

northeastern ohio through the lens of someone not from there which is rlly fascinating to me..theresa duncan creates an image of a place altogether foreign to her in the same way the children in the story dream of nyc or paris. it does not need or even want to be realistic in any sense. it’s a vague impression of how a place like cortland might look and sound and it’s place that’s altogether inspired by and created by a collection of artists from all over america,, that’s cute !
the 2020s has their rekinder :-)) and it’s good !! not nearly as good or as thematically/mechanically rich as parun’s games but yeah this is a good modern indie game !! cute and fun and I rlly love the ost here and that there’s a character that recommends real life albums that’s such a cute little feature. looks great too like im not sure what petscop rlly is bc im not a fucking nerd but this has such a great style ! has a title like any mid 00s emo/pop punk song which I rlly appreciate. ultimately too obtuse and complex and time consuming for me rn esp since the guides that do exist for this are equally obtuse and offer rlly very little help but i spent like two hours in this games world and rlly enjoyed it!
also there’s a text document in the games files that lists some of the devs inspirations and fucking one of them is 90210 - travis scott lmaoo that’s so funny

a bomb factory….they’re bombs..,
lol this is so sick. rlly fucking cool usage of mixed media, some stuff looks like a photo of a real life object like super imposed(?) into the game world and others are weird scuffed pre rendered cutscenes. often there’s live action footage or photography where the characters are interacting w animated objects. looks and honestly sounds like not much else I’ve played, pretty sure they sample two dogs barking for when u fail a stage which is funny !! completely incomprehensible to me as someone who’s only language is english but still lots of cool story beats I was able to pick up on in spite of that. my fave segment being a photograph of a girl watching something on tv and then a clip playing on the television inside of the static photograph. there’s an interview that plays and the film reels keep going back and forth between like a bubbly persona of the girl being interviewed and another where she’s irritable, would be cool to revisit this if it ever gets a fantran but also rlly doubting it ever will bc it’s totally playable and mostly understandable without knowing the language.
Y2K ass fashion I love ittt, so much of the shot comps here remind me of the ending of love & pop :-))

-that aint drip that’s sweat ‼️‼️ ass ending
-david lynch truly ruined media literacy for generations. not only that but he ruined how ppl conceptualize and empathize w rural america. in rural america the supernatural and paranormal take on real tangible presences bc these backroads of america exist to oppress each new generation. i grew up in a town where there was countless paranormal stories, glowing cemetery headstones and cars that when turned off at the top of the hill move on their own these are stories made to distract people from how tiresome and boring and dull and seemingly inescapable these lands are. my hometown was also very infamous for like having a meth problem. there’s smth to be said about the correlation of rural america’s fascination w the otherworldly and it’s rampant violence/racism/sexism/drug use, how made up stories are easier to comprehend than having to realize the horror stories come from our own sleepy towns. calling smth lynchian kind of just proves your own privilege and shortsightedness lmaooo. idk rural america is not quirky or weird it’s just hollow and depressing and I think this game nails it where someone like lynch never could and any comparisons between the two are so surface level and rlly only present in the first chapter.
ive seen every lynch thing besides the 2nd and 3rd seasons of twin peaks and rlly this does not have any specific vibe that made me think oh yeah lynch. I did however think of the late 90s scooby doo movies and I know what u did last summer and the original version of the fog at least in terms of map designs.
-ive seen a bunch of ppl saying the enemy designs are all very basic which sure yeah but i dont think that’s a bad thing and if anything serves as more thematic tissue of how ppl in this town are disposable for the darkness. plus I like how many of them get their own unique voice lines which are cute.
-bret easton ellis ref…sam lake go on the pod bitch
-episode three is rlly interesting mechanically as it turns the lights on you instead and puts you in the role of the enemies that you’ve spent the prior two episodes killing, it’s cool and reminds me a lot of like what if the prague chapter from mgs4 was actually uhhhh good. i like when games strip you from the central mechanics and powers of the playable characters and make you weak/vulnerable
-have only played the base game as of rn…will get to the dlc and american nitemare soon/eventually. feel like I’ll love nitemare bc rlly into the big wide open maps the base game has and how there’s plenty of ways to go about enemy encounters,,fun stuff that makes u think more logically about each fight. want to play alan wake 2 real bad but it’s seemingly the only reason to own a next gen console rn !
