The White House is reportedly debating on forcing Chinese publisher giant Tencent to divest it stakes in western companies, citing concerns for national security.

The new report comes via the Financial Times, who say top officials within the Trump administration have had internal meetings discussing whether or not to let Tencent keep their large investments in western companies like Epic Games, Riot Games, and others.

A meeting with several Trump cabinet officials was supposed to be held this week to discuss the issue, though it was postponed over scheduling issues.

The new focus on Tencent’s investments comes ahead of President Trump’s meeting with with Chinese President Xi Jinping sometime in April.

To recap, Tencent has 100% ownership of Riot Games, 100% of Grinding Gear Games, 40% in Epic Games, 100% of Funcom, 100% of Turtle Rock Studios, and many others they have large holdings in.
