As for Kesha/Bee, not quite. The same leaker knew about Bee's design before it dropped, but I don't think her being voiced by Kesha was something they leaked. Also the Lucifer/Alastor stuff is news to me.

This is a really unpopular opinion but I think Alastor having two rivals was overkill. Him and Lucifer’s rivalry is not compelling to me at all and their conflict kinda bloats the story and takes away from Charlie in my opinion.
Him and Vox are cool and I actually find them compelling. I would rather watch them than Lucifer and Alastor. I would either tone down one of the rivalries or get rid of one entirely (I would get rid of Alastor and Lucifer)
Vox and Alastor's rivalry feels somewhat believable and like one you could expect two grown men to have, while Alastor and Lucifer's rivalry feels like a kindergarten slap fight. It's not cute, it's annoying.
Viv weirdly… chaste with her queer women characters. I mean in the way that they don’t always get to openly express their queerness and sexuality like their male counterparts do. The queer guys almost always get to wear their queerness on their sleeve. They openly talk about having sex and have lots of sex with other men, they kiss, they go on dates, have one night stands, the whole shebang. But the queer women don’t really do that any of that. Vaggie and Charlie, the Hellaverse’s only prominent sapphic couple, are portrayed as being very vanilla and domestic in comparison to the more bombastic and larger than life pairings, all their couple moments are just them (Vaggie) helping each other through shit and quick cuddles and kisses. Hell, the one and only scene where they have sex so far was largely expressed through a symbolic dance number. And they’re the lucky ones. Almost all of the other queer women characters outside of those two don’t even openly express an interest in sex or romance, and the few times they do are when they’re in more straight-presenting relationships, which isn’t to say that queer women who date outside their sex or aren’t dating are less queer, far from it, it’s just strange how much more reserved the women are in comparison to the men. The one time I can remember a prominent female Hellaverse character outside of Charlie and Vaggie (emphasis on prominent, Martha and Mayberry DO NOT COUNT, They are background characters who will most likely never appear or have meaningful screen time again, their relationship was a quick shock gag at best) openly expressing an interest in other women was Millie shamelessly asking Blitz what sex with Verosika was like, and that one doesn’t even count because Millie was confirmed straight anyway. Let me have a moment where a queer female character talks about how hot she finds another girl, a one night stand with the cute butch lady at the bar, SOMETHING!!

Why the fuck didn’t they just call her vagatha or if they wanna keep the ship name then call her Maggie like Lucifer does in episode 5 of season 1. Vivziepop’s feminizing of queer men is so fascinating to me because we rarely see feminine queer men in mainstream media (outside of a joke) and some of her depictions are borderline progressive (The emphasis on Stolas’s bird vagina, the fact that Fizz doesn’t have a visible cock outline, Angel Dust’s drag) but it’s all in service of a fetish
Like. Do you ever notice how NONE of her women have this level of gender noncomformity? The only reason she has such a prominent trans woman is because she’s a self insert for a friend. But in terms of clothing. None of her women wear butch or femme outfits. Hell, remember when people said Charlie hates dresses? Well here she is in season 2 wearing multiple dresses.
It confuses me more because even in Zoophobia Viv had gender nonconforming female characters. I can’t help but think she just decided to make them all feminine and “hot” for the sake of selling merch
It all comes so close to being progressive, then flies violently in reverse like one of those backwards roller coasters. Stolas's bird-gina and Fizz's possible lack of a cock and Angel Dust's drag aren't because Viv believes a man can be a man without a penis (her statements on trans men and nonbinary afab people suggest the contrary), but because her early 2000s yaoi manga idea of a "bottom" demands they be as feminine as possible.
Don't know how hot of a take is but I can't stand people using the "It's not finished yet" argument when it comes to the hellaverse. We have over 2/4 seasons of content total from both shows and all its highs and lows amount into an average experience overall with so many rushed and brushed story beats and loose ends. They have so little replay value outside of the music or an action sequence. It needs to keep your attention in the "Now" by effectively using the "Steven bomb" tactic of hyping something up and then moving on from it. With the only thing that keep you going is the vague promise of something better will happen soon next.
Meanwhile, TADC has finished over 2/3rds of its story and those 6-7 episodes have been so much more satisfying to watch and examine over, especially in a single sitting. Even if things don't make sense or aren't elaborated on, you get the feeling that the show knows this and will explain itself later. Granted TADC is technically more so a miniseries akin to something like Over the Garden Wall so the scope isn't necessarily as massive as Viv's shows. But still I feel like spindlehorse could and should be doing better than treating their shows like a poor patched up webcomic.
Side note, do you have any updates for the DVD commentary of Hazbin that you bought?
Not a hot take at all. I’ve seen many people get frustrated with that argument. I don’t expect both shows to give us all the answers in one sitting because that is unrealistic and dumb but there needs to be progression. Like you said Anon, Vivziepop gives a bunch of vague promises or false hope such as promising insert character is going to get more attention or development.
I’m sure there are many people who enjoy stuff besides the music, animation, and action but I will say with confidence that the music is biggest replay value especially for Hazbin Hotel. As on Amazon’s YouTube channel, it gets double the view count.
As for the commentary DVD, it’s in my possession and it’s been lying in my room for two months. I need to buy the DVD player but admittedly I’m not in a complete rush to watch it as an acquaintance of mine on Discord (bless their heart), gave me a rundown of each commentary episode. 97% of the information ended up being Vivziepop and her squad saying the most obvious things ever. Meanwhile, 3% of the information was actually interesting. I’ll still watch it just in case there’s missing information that wasn’t brought up.
