We are delaying our launch, and we are so sorry

We want to be upfront with you about something important regarding the launch of Kippu. Following reports of security vulnerabilities, we have conducted an internal investigation and want to share exactly what we found and what we are going to do about it.

What happened

User email addresses were exposed as part of a reported data leak. We want to be clear that this is the only information that was compromised.

Payment Security: All payment processing is handled by our third-party encrypted partners. No credit card or banking information is stored on our servers. These systems were completely unaffected.

Passwords & Personal Data: No passwords or sensitive personal data were compromised.

What we have done already

  • Deployed patches for critical vulnerabilities identified by the community
  • Issued full reimbursements to all users (these will take 3-5 business days to settle)
  • Deleted all account information from our systems
  • Engaged external security experts to audit our infrastructure
  • Added additional layers of encryption and security to harden our systems going forward

What this means for you

We recommend being alert to unsolicited or suspicious emails. If you receive anything unusual, do not click any links. Again, we are incredibly sorry.

We are also delaying our launch to make sure we get this right. To everyone who showed up for us on day one, thank you. We are sorry this happened, and we are committed to making it better.

We will continue to share updates as we work through this.

Thank you for your patience. With love, The Kippu Team
