I know most people focus on the panels that follow, but there’s something about Bruce and Jason smiling at each other. something about how it took me a moment to figure out who was smiling in the lower right of the panel (because it could have been either of them). something about Jason smiling back at Bruce like it’s some sort of instinctive defense to an emotion he didn’t expect but is mirroring back anyway. something about Jason always trying not to mirror Bruce out of spite, only to end up mirroring him anyway.
Gordon being defensive of Bruce <3 will never not be the sweetest thing ever.

I very much appreciate their articles focused on women’s activity, as they strike the balance between “women should train differently than men” and “most weightlifting science is the same for both genders.” They also have a TON of free plans and programs. I’ve used a ton of them when I want a more coached program - 8 weeks cross training before a race, etc - or when I simply want to get a good set of targeted exercises down on paper. I highly recommend signing up for their free newsletter. Some recent articles include volume discussion, hypertrophy meta analysis, and an inquiry into the “1g of protein per bodyweight” myth that’s still floating around (spoiler - high protein is important to hypertrophy, but people have no idea what they’re saying when they throw around random numbers) #weightlifting#stronger by science#asks1952
