Never forgotten! In 1942 blacks in United States were not fully free themselves, but many black man went and fought for freedom in Europe. My grandfather an Ukrainian Rusyn was imprisoned in Soviet Gulags and freed only to go and fight Germans. I will always be grateful to these men! I exist because of them! Because they were willing to sacrifice their lives for mine.

May heaven have a special place for you and all those who've gone before you . There are no more men like you and those who served our great nation . You helped saved the world sir God bless you .

My dad fought in ww2 and Korea he was from a big Hispanic family . He begged his mom, my grandmother to sign the papers so he could join the war. What those men gave up was amazing to me . He once told me. I went to war so we could be free . You me and everyone else in this world . There is no pride anymore .we once worked for everything now everyone wants everything for free .he did his job and was a proud man .. I am so proud of all of them. He was 17 when he was sent off to war . The greatest generation because when the nation called on them they stood up and protected all of us .

A long life. I trust it was a blessed life. What an honor to have met him even tho it was on Facebook, and pay tribute to him and his service to our country.

As of May the fourth, it is 71 years ago when the Germans capitulated in Holland north west Germany and Denmark (most of it anyway). I would like to make a shout out to everyone who know or knew somebody who fought in the war and say thanks from Denmark. We appreciate your sacrifice, may there never be another need for such a sacrifice.

He lived in lake charles which is port hub in Louisiana...I've passed by his house more than once...lc is about 30 minutes from me with lots of family that live there...my grandfather knew him personally

Thank you for your service. My father was a WWII vet, he passed in December at 96 years old. I have the utmost respect for Mr. Livingston. My condolences to his family.

RIP. God Bless you for your service to this nation. So proud of those who served in WWII.....they never complained. They came home and continued to live. They never expected anything of our country. My father like many father served in the Navy in the Pacific during WWII. He died at age e 90. Thank you to all of the Greatest Generation for their service.

My father was 31 when he volunteered for the Navy Mr. Livingston was probably 37 when he volunteered for the army the younger men in their late teens and early 20s called them the old man they didn't have to go but they felt that sense of patriotism And I knew something had to be done rest in peace thank you for your service Mr. Livingston
