I strongly feel the 3DS has the best Home Screen of any video game system ever.

But how many people miss Miiverse?

They need to bring back customizable home screens like the 3ds had i remember my 3ds i had a majoras mask background for it it even had song that play from majoras mask

I feel this is because we lost Iwata. It went bland on the next system (Switch) after his passing.

That was sadly the last Nintendo console that had personality. Everything after is nothing but corporate stuff without any personality. Think about it. The GameCube had a cube as its menu that switched sides depending on what setting you wanted to change or if you wanted to mess around with your game saves. To play the game, you had to go to the top side. That makes sense since the disc loader is on top of the GameCube in real life. The Wii had all of its channels and looked like a TV or some sort of electronic store. Not to mention how versatile of a console it was. Being the first to play retro games from the NES, SNES, N64, Neo Geo, Master System, Genesis, Turbo Graphix 16, and arcade libraries, in addition to being backwards compatible with GameCube games. And that's not even mentioning how the Wii used the internet for things like the shop and online play, as well as a full on internet browser and streaming services. We take these kinds of features for granted nowadays, but it was revolutionary for the time when this stuff was introduced. But I also won't forget the day I got a Wii U on Christmas back in 2015. I miss those days...

If you really like it, it never truly went away for you. I know it didn't for me. My Wii U is still up, Modded and running just fine lol

We're so accustomed to home screens now, yet remember before the Wii, home screens weren't a thing lol.

I mean, it still exists. But Miiverse really made it feel alive. Now it’s just kinda empty and dead

It looks cool just EXTREMELY SLOW. If someone found a way to run a custom UI that's as snappy as the Switch UI but retains the Wii U look and feel I would definitely play it more.

Kinda weird how Nintendo hasn't proposed a sort of DS/Wii U for Switch and Switch 2 consoles. Here I'm able to Game Share from my docked Switch 2 to my handheld Switch 1. Worked pretty well.

It made it special, but it was so slow.

There was rumblings that Switch 2 would have some kind of social network built in like Miiverse... Wonder what happened to that.

The Wii U home menu is what should've set the standard to future Nintendo console home menus. The Switch was a MAJOR downgrade and it still is even after they added folders/groups.

I spotted a strange coincidence while watching a video of The Jetsons: Cogswell's Caper for the NES. In the bottom center of the game screen is a device that manages George Jetson's different gadgets/powers he acquires. Wii U was great but it didn't have much 3rd party support. It would be great if we could have been able to utilize 3DS games on it

I loved the animal crossing version of the wii menu. Just didn't like the fact it got my hopes up for acnl for the wii U. Lol
