“Slaugh” (a disparaging Elvish term for orcs; the transliteration is “mud-wallowing dogs”) is pronounced “Sull-LOC” (the emphasis syllable is almost the word “lock,” but don’t click-close the K, leave it open and hanging as if the word is unfinished/bitten off) #realmslore

@TheEdVerse Well met, good sir! I am reading and enjoying Elminster's Forgotten Realms, but I have a question. Pray tell, how does one pronounce the elven word "slaugh"? Is it slaw or sloff, or something else entirely?

For a moment there I thought it was Sluagh and almost had the urge to listen to Ozar Midrashim from Legacy of Kain.
