I don't get this statement. Is it really that weird that a group of people is angry that their country is bombing another country again. How many countries have they bombed now?
Don't get me wrong, the death of the Ayatolla is a good thing but i find their outrage pretty understandable.
Maybe we're seeing different people because i don't see anyone missing the ayatolla or saying people can't be happy because of his death?
Innocent people dying is bad and it's quite obvious the US administration is not doing anything out of the goodness of their hearts but I think its weird ppl are getting mad at Iranian Americans celebrating Khamenei going kaboom
He isn't referring to people who are generally anti-war. These "people" he refers to are tankies which mostly exist online and will often uphold anyone they see as anti-Western regardless of what their actual deeds are. I've seen them praise everyone from bin Laden, Putin, Maduro, the Ayatollah and a hundred or so similar persons just for being on the other side and will hit you with "whataboutism" whenever you bring up any atrocities associated with their current anti-Western hero.
Also as portrayed in the comic, they will often refer to anyone with first hand experience such as those who fled from such countries as "brainwashed by Western influences" and very often view them with disdain.
They're talking about Leftists disliking people who have suffered under certain regimes because those people don't support that regime (while the leftist, in theory, does.)
Actually its kind of funny, to a lot of far-right Americans (even the ethnonationalist ones) diaspora fleeing anti-american countries are viewed as "the good ones"
As a Californian I'm confused as to why anyone thinks we hate either of these groups, much less immigrants from them. To be perfectly frank it's all the internal immigration from within the US by every dipshit fratboy that wants to grow up to be a buzzword spewing crypto shilling techbro that annoys me. They all show up, drive the housing prices to the fucking moon and then leave to go back to whatever bumfuck state they came from where their money goes farther taking all the potential economic benefits with them.
