It has been discovered that there were deficiencies in the questions in the individual academic ability test for our university's general selection (early schedule) held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
The flaw in the question was discovered in a common "Chemistry" question aimed at applicants to the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Science.
In a short question asking for the mass of the product obtained by reacting a hydrocarbon compound with chlorine, the conditions were not clearly stated in the question. When the question was first asked, it was assumed that the product would be a substance in which one hydrogen has been replaced by chlorine (mono-substitution), but the conditions were not clearly stated, and answers that considered the product to be poly-substituted were also expected.
This defect was discovered as a result of an examination question inspection conducted by an external organization after the exam was completed.
Regarding the problem in question, we have decided to treat and mark answers that calculate the product as a monosubstituted compound as well as answers that calculate it as a multisubstituted compound as correct answers. After that, we will determine whether the candidates pass or fail, and will announce the successful candidates on Friday, March 6th.
Our university would like to apologize to all test takers and other parties involved for the flaws in the questions used in the entrance examination, which requires fairness and reliability, and will strive to prevent such an incident from recurring in the future.
