First off, I generally try to not give a bad review on things because, more often than not, the person or team that designed and built the product in question at least tried their best. I cannot say that that was even remotely the case here.

I got this game as part of a bundle with a different game that made the other game cheaper. Honestly, I actually kind of wish I had just gone with the other, minimally more expensive option simply to not have this title be in my library.

It's a poorly built game with exceptionally little content, a mind-numbing level of repetition, and it lacks the depth of a single molecule of water, let alone the depth of a puddle. On top of that, it is also a project that seems to have been completely abandoned, much like many of the other titles by this developer, and feels like little more than a cash grab.

At the moment of writing this, the game cost $14.99. I would've been upset to have spent anything close to a tenth of that price on something like this.

World Crafter TD grabbed my attention mostly because the concept is genuinely great. It mixes a 3D crafting/survival idea with tower‑defense mechanics similar to *Bloons TD*, and on paper that sounds like a fun, fresh twist. You chop trees for wood, mine ores with a pickaxe, smelt ingots, craft tools, unlock new land, and fight waves of enemies. It should work.

But after spending almost four hours with it, I can confidently say the execution just isn’t there.

I got the game for free during a £0.00 promotion, and honestly, even at that price, I wouldn’t recommend it. At its full price of £14.99/$14.99, it’s absolutely not worth it. The gameplay feels like a prototype more than a finished product.

The core loop is extremely basic. You gather resources, craft a few tools, and fight “blocks” that act as enemies. They’re clearly supposed to mimic the different types of bloons with their colors and patterns, but they’re not creative nor are they interesting to look at. There’s no charm, no personality... just cubes.

There’s also a heavy lack of story. You get a bare‑bones tutorial, and then the game just leaves you on your own. The progression is shallow, and the gameplay becomes repetitive almost immediately. Unlocking more land doesn’t even make the game more fun either; it just forces you to run back and forth constantly, which gets tedious and extremely annoying very quickly.

The visuals and assets look extremely cheap and disconnected. The game seems to rely heavily on store‑bought assets. That’s not automatically a bad thing, plenty of indie games do this, but here it just makes everything feel bland and like "thrown" together. Nothing looks cohesive. Nothing feels like it was designed specifically for this game.

Performance is another issue. As you place more turrets, the game starts to stutter noticeably. The more you build, the worse it gets, which makes the later waves feel sluggish and frustrating instead of exciting. It’s yet another reason the game just isn’t enjoyable in its current state.

To make matters worse, the game appears to be completely abandoned. No updates, no patches, no communication from the developers anywhere. For a game that clearly needs a lot of work, that’s a huge red flag.

World Crafter TD has huge potential, and that’s what makes it so frustrating. The idea is genuinely interesting, and with proper development, it could become something special. But right now, it feels unfinished, unpolished, and genuinely empty.

I really don't understand the poor reviews for this game. I'm hooked. Well I was until I won. I do wish there was something else to do once you've completed the last wave.
Actually wait, I see the price tag now. OUCH! I think this is a fun game, but not $15 worth of fun. I feel sorta ripped off all of a sudden.
Now I'm really struggling to rate this game. It's fun. I really like it, but it seriously needs to be 1/3 - 1/2 the price.
I guess I will say this- watch the trailer, maybe a gameplay video and see if this is something you might be interested in. If you're so rich that a poor value means nothing to you, by all means get it! But if you don't live in a magic money tree and have to consider whether or not the things you buy makes any monetary sense whatsoever, then this game will be a poor investment.
It's like $6 good, not $15 good. If it had more content then the asking price would be fine, but it doesn't.
I think this is going to be the first time I give a positive rating to a game I think really has a insulting price, but enough people have already given it a negative review, and I do think it is fun. I love the concept and don't want this nor other developers to think twice before making a game like this in the future. I'd love more games like this, just not at this price unless there is WAY more content.
