Tiemline

Came here to ask, but do you think episodes of shows can be added in a Timeline template? e.g. SMB Super Show -- like if i wanted to list it alongside game appearances -- or should we make separate timeline template for different forms of media, such as publications or shows?

Oh yeah!💡 We can have timeline templates for films, comics and shows! What names come to your mind?

I'd say something like {{Timeline Other Media}}, but that could look a bit long.

they'd prob have to be separate, given how like a {{Comic timeline}} would have column of volume, issue, publication year. and a Notes section like the main Timeline template

Meanwhile, a television one titled {{Television timeline}} have a show, episode, and airdate premiere. Also a Notes column

Is this good?

Ah yeah, I like that! I agree with what you said about {{Timeline Other Media}}.

{{Comic timeline}}, {{Television timeline}} and {{Film timeline}} works well!

Will you or I be the one to create it?

Are you fine with this article that I did? They voting to delete the Pokemon page on the other Mariowiki, which I didn't agree with, so I did my write up on instances when Pokemon have been involved with Mario in some capacity

Mmm, no. I'd leave that to the Pokémon wiki instead.

I was going to note that there's interwiki links to german, italian and Japanese mario wikis, each having a page on pokemon, particularly when involved with Mario

That does not change my mind.

I've backed up the article on my end in case it gets deleted

Anyway, aside from that, do you still appreciate all that I've been doing for this wiki? I'm looking back & we're almost half-way to 12,000 articles at this point

Yes, I do 🙏 I do not have the time to look at all of your edits but I trust what you are doing.

You're welcome -- and yeah some of the edits get quite big. I'm still glad you trust me even though we might have a difference in perspective.

The reason I like the Crossover template is because it properly acknowledges what has connected to Mario a couple of times but is not directly Mario. I know this wiki has probably been aiming for distinction from the other Mario Wiki for the longest time, and this felt like one of the prime distinctions. Perhaps the Pokemon page was a bit of a long shot, but here's bit of background in general:

The other Mario Wiki has been merging Smash Bros. fighters into list pages (SSB coverage there has been a subject of controversy for several years because of their association with SmashWiki), even if they have appeared in Mario franchise as, let's say, costumes in Super Mario Maker or unused cameo in Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, Wario Ware series microgames from 9-volt, list goes on, so it would be awkward to have it all on a Super Smash Bros. list article. Lists aren't meant to be full comprehensive articles per section, otherwise only the table of contents would count as the list.

It not just me who take issue to some way how they handle things but also NSMBFan (who is actually the main reason I began to fell in love with this wiki). Two sides of the coin -- one perspective could call it spiteful to do it differently than them, but another would say it's more civil, as it's not doing what they do 1:1 like they've been criticizing us for years. Discussing other wikis covering same thing is generally a no-no I assume, but I did not know how else to provide background.
