FAQ

Q: Can I add it mid-playthrough to an existing save? Can I remove the mod?
A: You can add it whenever. You can't remove mods from a save and expect it not no be messed up.

Q: Does this need Biotech DLC, Alpha Animals / Biomes / etc
A: No

Q: Does this work with Combat Extended?
A: Compatibility with CE is handled on their end

Q: Will colonists auto-read these?
A: No, as they are all single use. Think of them as readable potions. Actually, don't, that sounds really stupid...

Q: Reeee this is bloat! I like my things that add things to add less things to the thing!!!
A: The thing wants things added to the thing. Sorry, out of my control.

It would be really funny if the designated leader of a fluid Ideoligion gained an immediate reshuffle of the ideology if they read a Religious Text.

"Hmm, good ideas. We can use some of these. Yyyyyoink."

@gunns22 The ones that give a bonus in a specific biome? The former - limited-time hediff. Lasts a couple of hours to a couple of days, depending on book quality, IIRC.

Soo, how does the benefit of the Survival Guide work? Is it a Hediff that only lasts for a short while, or is it a permanent upgrade (similar to how powers granted by the Aberrant Grimoires are permanent until they're used)?

As per the FAQ:

Q: Will colonists auto-read these?
A: No, as they are all single use. Think of them as readable potions. Actually, don't, that sounds really stupid...

You have to manually tell a colonist to read one.

What's the best way to get pawns to read these books? Did you get a notification if they read a book that gives off a benefit? Or do you have to like make sure they read it and then immediately do it?

I don't, but it's all good, I figured it out. Thank you though!

So, does he have the hediff?
Blackjack [®…®] 1 Feb @ 11:35am
Hey just a question, I'm not sure if i'm doing some wrong, but even after reading the stainless steel book, anything my builder makes out of steel still comes out as steel, and not stainless. Is there something I'm not doing correctly? Thank you!
