Respawn stopped being a safe place months ago. They actively allow harassment and bullying to continue, even blatantly in the general chat. I check in once in a blue moon now, but I grabbed the cool people I met from there and made a genuinely safe, collaborative space away from Respawn's horrors.
What ruined it is the 'inclusivity'. There needs to be at the very least SOME form of verification before people are added to such a massive discord. The lack of checking for past issues or having systems in place to protect people if someone does slip through the cracks have continued to cause issues. It's not safe, and it's definitely not collaborative in the way they want it to be. It lost that appeal when they kept pushing out new waves with barely any time to get to know people in between, and the vouch system is incredibly flawed for many reasons.
I think the idea was a good one, and technically it could work and be uplifting for the community, but the way it's being done is causing more harm than anything else.
