Make the bootloader unlockable so that we at least can extend its life. And isn't it better to let the bootloader to be unlockable than letting this devices become e-waste and ruin the environment.

I agree, this phone has potential to last more years with an unlockable bootloader and custom roms, and it's unfair that we pay more than the moto E13 users and we don't have an unlockable bootloader, not even a testpoint location.

We can make this phone even better with custom roms if Lenovo and Motorola helps us to unlock the bootloader and make a bigger community to the G13/G23 and even some other brand users that don't want to buy Motorola by x or y reason.

Please listen to us, Motorola.

Allow us to unlock the bootloader. This was my first phone from motorola (moto g23) and I am too disappointed that it cost more than other phones but it has no bootloader unlock option!
Support is about to expire and what will I do then with an intentionally locked bootloader and too buggy stock firmware?

Currently, the Moto G23 doesn’t appear to support the fastboot oem get_unlock_data command. While fastboot flashing unlock brings up the unlock option, the necessary unlock data and proper method for official unlocking are unavailable. Enabling this capability for the Moto G23 would offer more flexibility and appeal to the developer and enthusiast community, further enhancing the device's utility and value.

I believe that Motorola’s longstanding support for bootloader unlocking in various models has helped cultivate a dedicated user base. Extending this support to the Moto G23 would not only align with Motorola’s commitment to user freedom and customization but also enhance the device's longevity and adaptability for users like myself.

However, it’s incredibly disappointing that the Moto G23, despite its higher price compared to similar models, lacks an option to unlock the bootloader. Many users, myself included, value the ability to customize and optimize our devices, especially when support for the model expires and we are left with limited ways to keep the phone updated and running smoothly.

By not allowing bootloader unlocking, Motorola risks alienating loyal customers and advanced users who want the freedom to maintain and improve the functionality of their devices. In the case of the Moto G23, the stock firmware has bugs that significantly affect performance, and without an unlocked bootloader, there is no way for users like me to address these issues ourselves.

Please reconsider allowing bootloader unlocking for this model, and let Moto G23 owners fully enjoy their devices.

Greetings Jess, the stability on these phones are low or 0, we want to make every user of the G13/G23 use everything their phone has to offer. Motorola Team can remotely send an OTA update enabling bootloader unlock or updating the bootloader to motorola bootloader, not just the mediatek bootloader. 

I fully support this — adding an OTA update to enable bootloader unlock or switch to a Motorola bootloader would give G13/G23 users more freedom and stability. It’s absolutely possible if Motorola decides to make it happen!

I appreciate your response, but I have to admit that I'm really disappointed with Motorola stance on not supporting bootloader unlocking for the Moto G13/G23. It feels like a step backward, especially when so many other manufacturers are providing this option to their users. It's frustrating to feel restricted with a device that I paid for, knowing that it could perform so much better with just a little more freedom. Not being able to unlock the bootloader makes it hard for users like me to fully enjoy the potential of these devices. It feels like Motorola is prioritizing control over user satisfaction, and it’s a shame, especially since I’ve been a loyal customer. I know the risks, and I'm willing to accept them in exchange for a better user experience. I just wish that Motorola would be more open to this and give their customers more trust and flexibility.
