Throughout The Night Agent[]
Season 2[]
Noor video chats with her mother who is still in Iran. Azita leaves for a few moments and in that time, Farhad comes to speak with Noor. He misses having someone else to help do the chores, and they laugh. She wants him to visit her, to which he remarks "someday".[1]
Farhad video chats with his girlfriend where he promises to keep in touch after his conscription. Their call is cut short when a man arrives at his front door claiming to be sent by Noor to take Farhad and Azita to America. Azita explains Noor has found a way to get them out of Iran just like his father always spoke about. Sami is upset that she didn't tell Farhad about the plan. She tries to convince Farhad to leave with them, but he's not agreeable. He flat out refuses to leave. Their neighbor Babak knocks on the door looking for Farhad and Azita. Farhad alerts him that there's a stranger in their home, forcing Sami to expose himself. Azita tries to lie that he's her nephew, but Farhad continues to make accusations to the contrary. Noor explains to Catherine, Peter, and Rose what is going on. Sami invites him inside to talk, but Babak leaves to rally his neighbors instead. Peter and Noor finally convince Farhad to leave by revealing she's in trouble with the Mission.
The trio barely escape the village as the neighbors throw objects at the car. Sami drives to the air strip when Farhad's phone rings with his girlfriend calling. He tells Azita that he can't leave and requests to be dropped off. He tells Sami to take Azita to Noor, believing he can make something up to be safe again. They continue to argue in the car until a police officer pulls them over. Sami tells his passengers to let him do the talking. The officer informs him of his broken tail light and window, which Farhad blames on the neighbor kids. Azita confirms that Sami is her nephew and they're visiting a sick relative who is in the hospital. The officer leaves to run his license just as the warning for his car goes over the radio. They force Sami out of the car where an altercation takes place and Sami kills the officers. He collects his license and Farhad leaps out of the car to pick up a gun, threatening to shoot if they don't let him go. He pulls the trigger but misses, forcing Sami to retaliate by killing Farhad. Azita screams in grief, clutching her son as Sami wrestles her off and into the car. She gets out again to hold her son, forcing Sami to handcuff her inside. He then stages the scene to make it look like Farhad shot the officer then leaves.[2]
