Those behind calls to increase MLA pay by 27% have failed to read the room... like a bad comedian 
Most of us have been there when the comedian has failed to read the room.
The jokes are being rejected. It’s not necessarily the lack of humour but rather the inappropriate content. The banter is not going down well, but they plough on regardless. I had that feeling last week as speakers representing the Independent Remuneration Board on MLA salaries presented a justification for the 27% pay increase.
