Iranian Ambassador Denies Gold Pen Theft During U.S. Talks

Iran’s ambassador to Oman has denied reports that a senior Iranian negotiator pocketed a gold pen during talks with U.S. representatives in Oman.

Musa Farhang, Iran’s representative in Muscat, called the allegations against Kazem Gharibabadi “a vile lie.”

The denial comes after widespread reactions on social media to claims that Gharibabadi, a senior member of Iran’s negotiating team, had taken a gold pen that was placed on the negotiating table during recent talks.

The ambassador urged social media users to remain vigilant against what he called “enemy rumors” and to refrain from sharing such news.

The negotiations between representatives of Iran and the United States took place on April 12 in Oman’s capital.
