Interesting video by Leonard French discussing the 17 USC 1201 circumvention claim in Cordova v Huneault.
Nearly 30 years after the passing of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, a Judge is going to hear a novel DMCA “anti-circumvention” claim. If caselaw is really headed in this direction,...

Good news. The Court's decision on the Motion to Dismiss in Cordova v. Huneault, 25-cv-04685-VKD, has been selected for publication in the Federal Supplement, specifically because of the Court's ruling on the 17 U.S.C. § 1201 circumvention claim. Until it's officially published, the citation will appear as ___ F. Supp.3d ____, but it can still be cited now as 2026 WL 184598. Small footnote for most. Big deal for creator-vs-creator copyright law. ⚖️🔥 #MakingCaseLaw ‪@DenverMetroAudits‬

Westlaw published the Court's decision on the Motion to Dismiss in Cordova v. Huneault, 25-cv-04685-VKD, 2026 WL 184598 (N.D. Cal. Jan. 23, 2026). This is the 5th decision Westlaw published in the case, the other decisions are: Cordova v. Huneault, 25-cv-04685-VKD, 2025 WL 1745762 (N.D. Cal. Jun. 23, 2025) (Denying Cordova's request for a preservation order); Cordova v. Huneault, 25-cv-04685-VKD, 2025 WL 2535104 (N.D. Cal. Jul. 16, 2025) (Granting Cordova's request to serve Google with a Rule 45 subpoena prior to the initial scheduling conference); Cordova v. Huneault, 25-cv-04685-VKD, 2025 WL 2410296 (N.D. Cal. Aug. 19, 2025) (Denying Patrick J. D'Arcy's request to file an amicus brief in favor of Huneault); and Cordova v. Huneault, 25-cv-04685-VKD, 2025 WL 2637504 (N.D. Cal. Sep. 12, 2025) (Granting Cordova's request for alternative service via email). The timing of the Court's decision on the Motion to Dismiss was perfect as our opposition to Rapkin's Motion to Dismiss (the 1a Audits Exposé Channel) is due tomorrow( Executive Lens v. Rapkin, 25-cv-06048-NC). Stay tuned. We are making good progress. ‪@DenverMetroAudits‬
