1) I didn't see myself in the credits, but couldn't see the very end thanks to folks getting up and leaving and blocking the view. DID see Kim Mohan's name and teared up because we just lost him. But I DID see "my" Realms brought to life on the big screen, shared with the world,
I did not see Ed Greenwood's name in the credits of the D&D movie and, to be perhaps too honest, it is extremely offensive if the creator of the Forgotten Realms was not credited for inventing the setting of the movie.

2) ...and THAT'S what matters. If folks who never knew about D&D, or worse thought of it as "that Satanic game," go away from the theater thinking, "Okay, so that's what the kids were playing down in the basement...NEAT, Okay then!" I want a movie all gamers can be happy with, ..

3) ...not feeling they have to defend. And I got that. I will be going to see it again. Taking friends, and taking family, and I'll probably enjoy it every time. I don't need the fame (I'd love the fortune cough cough), but I DO love sharing the Realms!

Ed (can we call you Ed?), you’re a real one. Thank you for creating so much that was the inspiration for this show.

Of course you can call me Ed. ;} It's one of the politer things folks call me. You're very welcome! I sat in the theater just loving so many things I dreamed up fifty or forty or thirty years ago brought to life. And I go a fun story with enjoyable characters and HUMOUR, too!

That is a classy take -while you fully deserved the credit, you were big enough to focus on us getting joyful D&D film. As a side note, you were one of the influences that made me become a professional game designer. Credit or not, we know who created the world we saw.

Thank you for such a positive take, particularly in a social forum that tends towards negativity. You continue to inspire.

Your world is in my opinion the most in-depth setting in all of D&D along with Krynn, Greyhawk and Eberron.

You are best. While disappointed with the lack of credit, those who know, know. And WE have thanked you for decades. Your tweet shows the very heart of DnD. Like you said, more people will understand all of us. It was such a fun movie. I could hear the dice in every scene!

Over 40 years of tabletop gaming the best campaign by far was a two & a half year visit to The Forgotten Realms. Thank you Sir. #dungeonsanddragons

Spellfire was the first d&d related book I ever read. I found it tucked away in a library in the early 90s. It was magic.

Just came home from watching it myself and looked in vain for your name as well. I did assume that Chris Pine’s “Ed” was a direct nod to you but disappointed not to see your name up there. But very lovely to see the Realms come to life!

You’re always so kind Ed. It would have been nice to have at least some kind of nod towards the creators though, without you guys we wouldn’t have the hobby we all love, I think that’s worth at least a shout out.

I am obligated to ask — does this mean a certain group who made a cameo is now FR canon? 😊
