Visiting with cousin and sharing family memories
Summarized by AI from the post below
Barb Chandler Lesieur and I had a lovely visit with with cousin Phyllis Skidmore (granddaughter of Harry Chander b. 1886), Chandler Group 2, yesterday. She's a wonderful lady just turning 80 in August. She's active in her church and community, in good health. We exchanged memories and stories... and some pictures, too. We have plans to meet and travel to family haunts in the near future. Attached is a picture of Dovie Chandler with most of her children. On the back of the picture are the names. The little girl (Neva) far right looks *exactly* as I did as a child of that age!

Sorry it's taken me so long to post my group 9 family tree. I'm fighting frozen pipes. 7 degrees here in Vermont and falling fast.
I want to thank Mr. Ray Wing, Mike Chandler and the members of the Chandler Family Association for all their help. I would have given up long ago if it wasn't for all the support. Thank You.
Here it is. and I need to dig threw some family paperwork to get some dates that you will notice are missing.
This tree also begs to ask some questions.
All these Captains and an Enson. Whose side were they on?
Some are officers before the revolution. Hoping ships captains.
How does group 9 relate to group 61?
I know there's a relationship between myself and John Chandler and John Jr. (Battle of Concord and Lexington.) Cousins maybe?
I grew up in the town next door to Lexington. I've been in the Buckman tavern to many times to count. Played on the Battle green as a kid. and several of my best friends were from Lexington. I even worked in a Lexington hotel dining room as a Bus boy in middle school.
Anyway, here it is.

I’m looking for information on King Zachariah Chandler. I have this information right now as my great grandmother was a Chandler, this was her father. Cullman, Alabama.
May be an image of text that says 'KING CHANDLER King Chandler, 91, G. A. R. vete- ran of the Civil War and one of the county's oldest settlers, died at his home near White City, Thursday. Burial was at Brushy Pond on Fri- dav. October 31st. His wife, several children and several grandchildren survive.'

There are History groups called (Sons Of Civil War Veterans) these groups have a lot of information you might check into one of those wherever King Chandler lived and see if one exists in that area.
For example, you can check (Sergeant Samuel Churchi…

On this Memorial Day, I would like to honor my ancestor, Captain Joseph Chandler. A Captain in the Revolutionary War, he died in the service of his country, at Mt. Independence, 17 September, 1776. (age 51)
I am a direct descendant of Joseph and Lydia Eastman, eight generations later.
For more information about Mt Independence and its importance in the War, see [https://historicsites.vermont.gov/mount-independence](https://historicsites.vermont.gov/mount-independence...)

Researching family history from Kentucky to Iowa | Hot Springs, AR

Hi my name is Mary I’m from Iowa I’m doing research on my moms dads side of the family. He and his twin sisters were adopted when little so I’ve been doing this since I did my DNA in 2019! I just found this page idk if this will be any help for any of you or myself but here I go!
My grandfathers birth name is Kelley ! Down the line is
John Roy Kelley 1834/1909 I believe from Kentucky
He married
Sarah cyrena chandler (cyrena)
Married in 1855 I believe they lived in Tennessee and later relocated to Arkansas to hot springs!
Also moving to Oklahoma,Sarah Cyrena Chandler (1839–1921) spent much of her later life in Texas (where she and John Roy Kelley both died and are buried), several of their children and grandchildren made the specific move through Oklahoma and Iowa
The Migration to Oklahoma and Iowa
The family's movement followed a common westward and then northward pattern:
The Oklahoma Connection: Their son, David Owen (Nelson) Kelley (1869–1938), moved from Arkansas to Stilwell, Oklahoma, where he lived and eventually passed away. Many of John and Sarah's grandchildren were born or raised in this region before moving further north.
The Iowa Pivot: During the early 20th century, branches of this family moved to Iowa (particularly the Mills County area) for agricultural opportunities. This is likely where the Stougard and Kelley lines crossed paths, leading to the marriage of my great-grandparents. I have all this information but really don’t know much about my great grandparents! But I figured I would share what I know! If anyone would happen to have a picture of John Roy Kelley I would appreciate it as I have zero pictures of any family past my grandfather! I have reached out to ppl I have matched with, with zero luck.
These would be roy and Sarah’s kids
James William Kelley (1856–1936)
William Franklin Kelley (1858–1939)
Mary Jane Kelley (1860–1948)
James Madison Kelley (1862–1940)
Nora Nevada Kelley (1866–1953)
David Nelson Kelley (1869–1953)
Sarah Emeline Kelley (1871–1957)
George Washington Kelley (1875–1960)
Martha Kelley
Rebecca Kelley
John Kelley
Thomas Kelley
General Kelley
Ida Kelley
