No? Because Rebuild isn't about isolation, it's about repetition. The isolation was completely beaten by the end of the first movie. It's about how the world itself, through eva, was forcing the characters to have a shitty fate where they had no AGENCY to change it. Rei and Kaworu tried and got served the same dish. Because in the end, they wrongly tried to use Eva for it. That's why Shinji destroys Eva for good, because all became trapped in the plugs/roles (Kaworu was trapped in Eva 13, Rei was trapped in Eva 01). It's not about escapism, it's about BREAKING FREE. Both Kaworu and Rei found friendship and company of other people too, then got dragged back into Eva.
This is a message after you progress from NGE into a new story. Asuka Soryu is still caught up in NGE stuff, so that kind of narrative doesn't fit her.
