I am disabled. I have a caregiver who is going to be with me 24 hour a day. They take care of me with medication, hygiene, cleaning, safety, cooking, shopping, and more.

I am verbal. I have other disabilities. I live in a shared care home that is too expensive for a room to rent. I get fixed income. I am not sure where to go.

This will be temporary as I will be moving to a group home at some point in near future.

I will have a different caregiver at different times. They are nice. They will not be in my room and are quiet. They mostly watch TV.

I like being by myself. I don’t like loud noises and bright lights. I don’t like being touched. I thrive for routine and structure. I like chess, cats, dogs, and animals. I like chess, weather, movies, and sports. I can’t watch R or anything mature because my disability. I don’t like smoke. I don’t like change or new things and people. So I will need help. I need people to be patient and calm when talking to me. I need to be talked to slowly and short and direct sentences. I like to follow rules so please redirect me to what you want me to do. Help me with the steps of what you want. I like to socialize on my terms. So I am in my room most of the time. I have visual supports like pictures steps, routine board, and other things to help me with routine and rules and structure. I have stuff animals and weights blankets and other sensory stuff to help me. I also have a communication device when I need it. I like walks and exercise. I like going out in the community. I like being friends and making people happy and helping people. I am good with technology and repeating facts and information. I just ask to be treated like anyone else you do as a friend. I am funny. I am repeatitive. I am loving and caring. I am honest. I am loyal. I am someone who is like a young kid in adult body. So I will need other people to be patient with me. I sound super smart and capable but I am not able to use that information.

I don’t like smoke it bothers my asthma and my sensory issues. I like cooler temperature. I can’t feel cold. I will need someone to watch out for me when my caregiver is late. Example, I will need help with cooking and medications when staff is late.

I would love to have someone who has a dog because I really really really miss my dad’s dog. I dont want to go back to dads house because he can’t take care of me. He’s older.

My father is my payee and guardian and lives in NYS. I will need his permission to move. I will also need adult protective services permission.
