Bad webcomics

Is it this one? I still see it being glazed from time to time.
Yeah but the edit was: first pannel, he is a normal grumpy old guy, then he gets on a plane and all the locales he visits are massively overcrowded tourist traps (it's him standing with a scowl on his face in the middle of a crowd), all locations are the same, I think he gets his wallet stolen and when he comes back he joins the KKK because he doesn't want his country turning into that.
Maybe I'm missremembering the edit but that was the message: if you want to protect the diversity of each culture we should be racist and enforce barriers, for their sake and ours.

This is the edit you're probably thinking of, or at least, it's the most popular variant.

I also found these edits while I was looking for the above one.

But that's not a bad thing per se. At least 60% of instagram is just mommy comics or office-bad comics. Everyone just chuckles, see if the store page has any interesting merch and moves on. ZP tried with all his might to be seen as some sort of intellectual when he's as shallow as a puddle. He is the embodiment of the artist that grows a beard, wears a bonet and keeps referencing authors that are too obscure for you. If this was high school he would get the shit kicked out of him (which is what happened because there are dozens of strips where he goes, "heh, see JOCKS, the nerd ends up as the winner in life")

Maybe I'm just old and tired, but in an Internet where every fucking personality turns out to be a groomer, gooner, troon or pooner deviant freak of nature, I just can't care that this one guy's bland and pretentious. Oh no, he's literally every art and film school student, aaah the horror. His webcomics were positive and safe enough (except the weird hammer trilogy, I'll give you that one) you could've hung them up in classrooms. I wish there were more webcomics like that than "nondescript cute Blorbo has zippertit scars and punches ICE agents #753."

I miss when you could find crazy webcomics of all flavors from Billy the Heretic to Electric retard to Hathor the cow goddess. Hathor is now selling her comic on Amazon for real cheap, but seems to no longer be online.

I understand where you're coming from but both are safe. Safe edgy and IKEA safe are two sides of the same coin. You did bring up a 2026 example so I will reply with another 2026 one: when I read ZenPencils in 2013 I had the same revulsion as when I see an AI generated image now. It's slop for the soul but feel free to disagree, I'm just A-logging at this point at a guy that was a flash in the pan in 2014 and has largely disappeared from the web.

Bravo for finding them! Did you have them saved? What combination of words did you use to find them in a search engine because I had 0 results.

Uhh... what's going on with Whomp?

There's more, none of it is particularly funny and it's pretty awkward.

Tatsuya Ishida is going to need his own thread with the way he's been going. His current project is an edgy reimagining of World War 2 with Hitler as the good guy.

The best Hitler telling since The Iron Dream.
I recommend this highly. It's an alternate history novel where Hitler moved to the United States and became a science fiction writer. The gimmick is the novel is itself written by Hitler.

Another time he did this was The Jungle Rot Kid on the Nod, an incredibly obscene short story that appeared in the first Dangerous Visions anthology, which is Tarzan if written not by Edgar Rice Burroughs but William S. Burroughs. This is a shitpost of a story but pretty funny, if kind of dated.

Philip Jose Farmer did something similar with Venus on the Half-Shell, a novel written by fictional SF writer Kilgore Trout, who appears in multiple novels by Vonnegut.

ETA: whoops, actually Philip Jose Farmer did the short story too. Norman Spinrad wrote the foreword to it in DV.
