Have you ever read Tsutomu Nihei's work, especially "Blame!"? For some reason his drawings and the themes of the manga matches well with your music.

My home country is Sweden so I wonder about you guys thoughts on the venue In Slaktkyrkan Stockholm? I heard of fellow Swedish fans that said the sound was huge and incredible bassy like HUGE BASS!

Do you  guys planning releasing that set in the future?

Cheers! =)

Hello Sean and Rob!!
Thx for being such huge inspirations to me. All of your work is incredible.

I have 2 questions thooo

What have you guys been listening to lately?
Can we see any material using hardware soon?

are you guys planning on collaborating with more artists in the future?

not so far

Do you guys feel like you have a mostly intuitive understanding of the software/hardware you use? Or are you constantly learning new technical things as you work on new music?

well both i guess, intuition is kinda like embedded knowledge so it accumulates

with all or most of your music nowadays being software based, is reproducibility something you care about at all? do you have a repo or copies of the old system around? like, could you go back to the system you were using say 9 years ago and recreate the elseq tracks, or is that lost to time? or is the current setup backwards compatible?

Hello Ae !

Any thoughts or anecdotes to share on the late Peter Rehberg (rest in power) ? Speaking of Mego, did Farmersmanual's big live archives data (dvd first, then online) inspire you to release your own live recordings? at some point, they too stopped releasing albums, focusing on improvised live sets… and what is your favorite Mego records ?

Did either of you spend any time in Boggart Hole Clough during your pirate radio days? Love those old broadcasts - and my lass is from Blackley.

Since Twitch lives and a pretty distinguishable aesthetic going on for the Live album covers, are you guys reconsidering making a visual language for the music, or has the "policy" of that not shifted? Is it possible we will ever see a new Autechre Official Music Video?

You guys tour far and wide, so any plans to play South/South East Asia? Have you guys ever visit this side of the world in your personal lives?

been talking about that recently. idk what might happen, depends on offers (and politics i guess). i've been to indonesia and japan.

Hey, thanks for doing this again.

I've been recently playing around with using looping samples from sources like the noise in between radio stations or field recordings that have timbral shifts over time as oscillators. Feeding them into sequencers and filter banks which momentarily open an amp envelope in time periods offset from the length of the sample can get some really interesting percussion sounds that are almost a little bit queasy sounding. At times it has reminded me of certain sounds I've heard from you in the post Exai period.

Have you played around with this sort of stuff?

Thanks for doing this.

What are your honest opinions on the recent Manchester show?

The 'technical glitch' did make the crowd get a bit heated, but you blew us all away afterwards.

Thank you.

yeah it would have been fine without the sub rattling the usb out of my interface. is what it is.

@Sean Ae where's ixoid, the fans demand it.

@Rob Ae , this one's for you. What tape deck did you use to rip for the stuff you made at Daz's studio was it a nakamichi or something?

hya erm im not 100% on this, we did most stuff on dat at dazs place, those dats dont run on any other thans a sony DTC690 iirc, so everything was to 1/4" masters, if youre also referring to the other stuff it was all tascam 244 4 track tapes stereo to a nice denon more recently, the older 'rips' are to the OG LegoFeet Yamaha tape deck, feel free to reply if i didnt answer u fully

AE Live Residence Mixes for BBC Radio 6 last December was sick! my favorite was no 4.

Did everything land well? And any consideration of doing that again in maybe near future?

Cheers! =)

kind of an obligatory question but any more plans for AE wax at all? either represses of the past stuff (quaristice, untilted, etc) or any of the newer live stuff? would also like to say you guys are huge inspirations & can't wait to see you live in august

Hello Sean and Rob, I am a massive fan of your work. I'm wondering if either of you have heard of the legendary Japanese ambient musician Hiroshi Yoshimura?

i'm aware of him but not checking it much

I wanted to share a little story about the last meaningful interaction I had with my grandfather, in which your music played a big part.

He was deep into Alzheimer's, and his last great pleasure was being driven around, singing along to Fats Waller.

My partner and I were visiting, and we offered to take him for an afternoon drive in her car.

MilkDX starts up on the player, and he says "I think there's something wrong with your car love".

"No Bill that's just modern music" I tell him.

"Oh righto" he replies, a little perplexed. Sits there in silence for about a minute until he exclaims happily "There it is!" and starts singing along.

Oddly, he sang quite diferently to how he'd sing along to the old jazz he would play at home - much more "rikki-tikki" and "Cchaaaaa" type sounds rather than the "rom pom pom" we were more familiar with.

Then at the end of the track, he laughed loudly and said, "That's beaut".

Died a couple of months later.

Hi Sean and Rob,

Thank you for doing this, love your music and remixes and mixes.

Q: Did you go to any graffiti competitions during the 80s? I'm thinking Bridlington mainly (forgotten the name of the event, "Bridlington Street Art" maybe) plus we also went to a competition in York.

At the Bridlington event my mate got his Def Jam cap nicked, overall though it was great, couple of American artists won from memory. During the York competition Goldie arrived (exciting for us 16 year olds since we we were aware of him through the Spraycan Art book) and was working on his piece but then left mid-way through, he wasn't happy about the amount of tagging going on everywhere. Shame really because his piece was shaping up nicely....

Still like to flick through my copies of Subway Art and Spraycan Art occasionally, Chrome Angelz a particular favourite..

Thanks again.

About early era (1994-95) - sorry!

1) Do you recall using both EPS16+ and ASR-10 Ensoniq samplers at the same time or you switched the first to the latter at some point?

2) Do you recall using extensions card on Roland R-8?

we only got the ASR in 97 i think.

idk which roland card you mean, we used a few of their sound cards if that's what you mean

What Studio headphones are you guys currently using?

And what Hifi headphones do you using mostly?

Cheers! =)

How different would things be for ae right now had covid not happened?

we were planning to plan a tour at some point late 2019, early 2020 the imminent situation increasingly suggested it wasnt likely, we decided to put down the idea, and concentrate on the body of work we wouldve had ready post tour instead, which became SIGN PLUS
