Man, Harper's tone with Piper half feels like he's making fun of her inability to remember things. When we look back to his conversation about her earlier, he acts like he can get away with anything because Piper's shoddy memory will accommodate being able to better manipulate her. Quinn has said Piper's the best thing to happen to them, but it feels more like Piper is just a convenient way for The Warren to manipulate the front runner because of her dog shit ability to recall information.

I am extremely late and gay, but I'm re-reading Roots, and Wesen is just a stand in for Wally. Why did SnP go out of her way to depict him and the disabled Skitty (Frisk) as absolute assholes? I understand her world building is more or less "everyone sucks and everyone is racist", but this is a disgraceful way to represent disabled people, which I had thought was something she prides herself on?

I'm also interested to see how she handles gathering Wally's team and if he will actually become a Gallade like in Omega/Alpha
By key art, he would have a Swablu by the time where Wesen is meeting, Frisk, as well.

I have a theory of how SnP may twist/justify Harper being a miserable cunt. If she writes Harper as the "Evil" system member, or the persecutor, that makes it excusable, surely. There's no real positive way to portray Harper. He was a sexpest on meeting Kai formerly, he belittles Piper's role and ability to recall information, he actively will abuse that knowledge to get out of explaining Quinn beating up Kai. Something rubs me wrong, too. There's an air of superiority or maturity to Harper that feels more like he's written as an adult. The other characters act like children, including Quinn, but Harper doesn't and is actively malicious. I hate this guy.

I think Harper's mature/adult effect is unintentional. She's supposed to be socially competent, and aware that she can't fully be her own person as an alter. Where that air comes from, though, is that no one pushes back in a meaningful way except maybe Niko, making her look even more competent/experienced by default and her being a sex pest doesn't help. I mean, she's incredibly malicious, but the narrative wants us to think she's protective to a fault when that's not what it shows.

Because SnP is stupid and has no idea how people work. She shows us Kai suffering and expects us to give a shit about Schizobunny because she’s the protagonist, thinking that Schizobunny is in the right by sheer virtue of SnP wanting her to be. She thinks assault/battery is reasonable if it’s because someone’s identity got invalidated, regardless of the circumstances. She thinks reading Tumblr posts about “I feel different sometimes????” counts as research.

Bitch is dumb. She is really. Fucking. Dumb.

Also really not sure how to feel about Rayquaza’s characterization here. Sure I guess “not doing anything until the player comes around” is fairly in line with the mainline games and Red/Blue/DX Rescue Team, but SnP’s writing is so bad that I don’t want to throw her very many bones.
