The fastest crossover in comics is back for another lap.
Following the success of 2025’s DC x Sonic the Hedgehog, DC and SEGA of America are teaming up again for a new five-issue event titled DC x Sonic the Hedgehog: Metal Legion, launching May 5, 2026. The Justice League reunites with Sonic and Team Sonic for a high-speed adventure filled with action, humor, and unexpected alliances.
In Metal Legion, mysterious mechanical rings appear across both worlds, linking the DC Universe and Sonic’s dimension in unpredictable ways. The heroes are thrilled to see each other again, but the cause of their reunion carries a darker purpose. A hidden enemy is manipulating events from the shadows, and the collision between worlds could spiral out of control.
Ian Flynn returns to write the series, joined once again by artist Adam Bryce Thomas. The pair helped make the original crossover one of DC’s most talked-about launches of 2025, with issue #1 racing through multiple printings and strong retailer support throughout its run.
“I had an absolute blast the last time around,” Flynn said. “I’m really happy that the tease we left at the end of the first crossover is finally coming to fruition. I hope everyone enjoys this second go-around as much as I did writing it.”
The debut issue features a main cover by Pablo M. Collar, with variant covers by Adam Bryce Thomas, Serg Acuña, and Min Ho Kim. The 32-page first issue arrives May 5, 2026, priced at $3.99, with cardstock variants available for $4.99.
