Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Welcome to CatStore (operated by CatStore LLC). These Terms of Service ("Agreement") govern your access to and use of our website, extensions, and services ("Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by this Agreement, our Privacy Policy, and our Acceptable Use Policy. If you represent an organization, you agree to these terms on behalf of that entity. If you do not agree, you may not use our Services.

We may update these Terms at our discretion. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of significant changes via email or a site notification. Continued use of the Services after this period constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

2. Your Content & Rights

When you upload files, images, or other data ("User Content"), you retain ownership of that content. However, to provide our Services, you grant CatStore LLC a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, back up, and distribute your content as directed by you. This permission extends to trusted third-party partners necessary for the operation of the Service.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to all content you upload. We are not liable for any lost or corrupted data; you are responsible for maintaining your own backups.

Deduplication & Safety: We reserve the right to delete duplicate files to save storage space (a process known as deduplication). We also reserve the right to scan for and delete files containing malware, viruses, or illegal content without prior notice.

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to use our Services only for lawful purposes and in compliance with our Acceptable Use Policy. You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU, subject to local laws) to use CatStore. If you do not meet these age requirements, you are prohibited from using our Services.

4. Prohibited Actions

You agree not to:

• disrupt or damage our infrastructure;
• infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others;
• resell our Services without explicit permission;
• create multiple accounts to bypass limits;
• upload malicious code, spyware, or viruses;
• use the Service for harassment, spamming, or distributing illegal content.

5. Termination

You may stop using our Services at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms or creating legal liability for us. We will attempt to provide notice where reasonable, but we reserve the right to terminate without notice for severe violations.

6. Commercial Use

CatStore is for personal use. Unauthorized commercial use—such as using CatStore as a Content Delivery Network (CDN) for a business or monetization purposes—is strictly prohibited unless you have a written agreement with CatStore Executives.

7. Limitation of Liability & "As-Is" Disclaimer

The Services are provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CatStore LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services.

8. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from this Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of California. You agree to attempt informal resolution by contacting admin@catstore.example before initiating formal proceedings. All disputes shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration in Los Angeles, California, waiving any right to a class action lawsuit.

• Account Data: Username, email, and IP address (stored unencrypted). Paid plans may require additional billing details processed by our partners (Stripe/Patreon).
• Upload Data: File metadata, upload timestamps, and the uploading IP address are logged for security and accountability.
• Usage Logs: Standard web logs including browser type, referring pages, and IP addresses.
• Cookies: Necessary for session management and preferences.

How We Use & Share Data

We do not sell your data to advertisers. We only share data with:

• Service Providers: Trusted partners like payment processors who help us operate (subject to their own privacy policies).
• Legal Compliance: We may disclose data to law enforcement if required by a valid legal process, to prevent fraud, or to protect the safety of users.

Data Retention & Security

We prioritize the security of your data against unauthorized access. Personal information is retained as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, personal identifiers are removed after 30 days, unless retention is legally required.

Location: Data is primarily stored in secure facilities. By using our Services, you acknowledge that your files are publicly accessible globally.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of your personal data ("Right to be Forgotten"). To exercise these rights, please contact admin@catstore.example.

Acceptable Use Policy

By using CatStore, you agree NOT to misuse our services. You are solely responsible for all content you upload.

Prohibited Activities

• Technical Abuse: Attempting to breach security, reverse-engineer the platform, scrape data, or launch DDoS attacks.
• Spam & Phishing: Sending unsolicited promotions, hosting phishing pages, or misleading users.
• Illegal Content: Uploading terrorism propaganda, extreme violence, defamation, or content that violates privacy rights.
• System Exploitation: Bypassing storage limits, creating bulk accounts, or using the service for unauthorized commercial hosting.

Enforcement: Violation of this policy will result in immediate content removal, account termination, and a permanent IP ban.

DMCA & Intellectual Property Policy

CatStore respects intellectual property rights. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and will respond to valid takedown notices.

Filing a Takedown Notice

If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed, please send a plain-text email to admin@catstore.example containing:

1. Your physical or electronic signature.
2. Identification of the copyrighted work.
3. The exact URL(s) of the infringing material on CatStore.
4. Your contact information (email/phone).
5. A statement of good faith belief that the use is unauthorized.
6. A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner.

Note for Third Parties: If you are an agency acting on behalf of a creator, you must attach a signed letter of authorization.

Counter-Notification

If your content was removed in error, you may file a counter-notice including your contact details, a statement under penalty of perjury, and consent to US Federal Court jurisdiction.

Repeat Infringers: Users who repeatedly violate copyright laws will have their accounts terminated.
